Thank god for Nico these are all the small moves we?ve been begging for (including the draft) for years. Cuban was always big star or bust

So accurate.
Cuban has two modes: 1) strike out swinging for home runs, 2) bunting
This offseason has been nonstop singles and doubles-- the exact types of move that Cuban and Donnie were allergic to.

Luka is more likely the PF:
Maxi
Luka
Thybulle
Green
KI
Bench
Hardy
Holmes or powell
Grant williams
Exum
Wild Cards
Lively
Prosper
Stretch wave McGee if he can't be dumped with one of those 2nd's when the bol bol claim goes thru.

There will be more moves in the next 24 hours.
By the time we can tender an offer for Thybulle, we need to clear salary. The boring choice would be to waive/stretch McGee. There could also be a trade in the works.
July 6th is when 1) our draft night trades are official and guys can be re-routed and 2) when RFAs can be signed.
Next 24 hours are going to be nuts for us.

2) Kyrie (1/2) - 31 y.o.
3) THJ (2/3) - 31 y.o.
4) Holmes (4/5) - 29 y.o.
5) Williams (3/4) - 24 y.o.
6) Kleber (4/5) - 31 y.o.
7) McGee (5) - 25 y.o.
8) Curry (1/2) - 32 y.o.
9) Green (1/2/3) - 22y.o.
10) Lively (5) - 19 y.o.
11) OMax (3/4) - 21 y.o.
12) Hardy (2) - 20 y.o.
13) Powell (5) - 31 y.o.
14) Exum (2/3) - 27 y.o.
15) ??
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
16) Miles (1/2) 20 y.o.
17) Lawson (2/3) 22 y.o.
18) Wright (1) 24 y.o.
FA: Wood (4/5), Frank (1/2/3), Pinson (2/3), Morris (4)
And if we get Thybulle, he's only 26. Today we traded a 32 year old for a 24 year old.

You?re right, by Friday it?s gonna be an all time offseason for the Mavs. Then we get to watch the draft picks work on Saturday
I can?t believe I?m excited again as a fan. I can finally let go of my hatred for watching Brunson walk. They?ve recovered from a disaster.

i'd go for it if we could get rid of mcgee...
make pinson a coach
i don't know if we need wright at this point tbh... would rather hardy/green run point if needed - he's too small. launch morris and frank into the sun

Every one always says this about superstars. If we are competing, he's way more likely to be content.

I'll do the Lloyd Christmas redeem yourself when the Mavs get a starting center. Considering they did a 2030 pick swap means they are absolutely open to trading 27.

What has Pinson ever done to show he can be or wants to coach? Cheerleader? Maybe. Coach? I don?t know.

Surprised they only went 4/33 for Thybulle. To me they could absolutely match that.
Btw he?s signing on Thursday, and Portland has two days to decide on matching. Long 2.5 days ahead on that.
PJ is still there if they can?t get Thybulle.
Zubac would be nice as well to tie this whole thing up.

Holy shit, the Mavs actually went out and got the guy we all wanted them to get.... This is a strange feeling that I am totally unaccustomed to... I love it!!
Seriously though, I'm trying to remember the last time we fans were saying they needed one particular player in the offseason, and the Mavs actually got him.
Not only that, we got the guy we wanted AND we kept our first round picks?! I'm officially calling this offseason a success. If not a home run, then it's a solid base hit. If we manage to get an upgrade at center, then it's not just a home run, it's a grand slam.

3 for 33. So that?s 11 a year close to the full mle? Hopefully Portland lets him go. He sucks on offense.

THJ has to go. Literally no way for him to still be on the team with Hardy coming up and signing Seth.

The better we get the more I like THJ. Classy dude who is just a spark plug.
But the better we get the less we need him.

Yeah giving Hardy more playing time and chance to develop is the main thing - you're right, with a more well rounded roster THJ fits nicely in the 2nd unit. But the more Hardy develops the better we'll ultimately be and so for that reason alone it'd be good to move him for a bigger wing with defensive chops or in a package for a better center.

Their idea seems to be that Hardy can run point more and get extra minutes there. They don't have to strive to stagger Luka and Kyrie minutes as much and they can spend more time together on the floor. Then Curry can get mins too. THJ is a prime candidate for being moved. He really doesn't dribble, pass or defend OR rebound that well so no big loss.

They obviously value Hardy a lot judging by their refusal to trade him, so it will be very interesting to see how they fit him into the rotation. I'm especially wondering how Thybulle would affect the distribution of minutes if Portland doesn't match. We definitely have too many guards at the moment.

Mavs Film Room 🐴🎥
@MavsFilmRoom
In Stein?s latest Substack chat, he was asked if the Mavericks would still try to upgrade center after the Grant S and T
https://marcstein.substack.com
Stein: ?Even if the Mavs pull off both Grant Williams an Thybulle, YES they will still try to upgrade at center. They have to.

His offense doesn't hurt this team as much because of Luka and Kyrie.
He would instantly be the best defensive wing this team has had since Marion.
Keeping my fingers crossed that they get him because that would give 3 solid wing defenders with some size in Williams, Green & Thybuile.
Makes them a much balanced team so I don't care about his lack of offense.

I think we are a Zubac away from being a decent contender.
Nico is making us competitive while making us young.
Luka, Green, Hardy, Williams, Lively, and OMax all under 25. If they can add Thybulle and someone like Zubac, that would be 8 guys 26 and under.
This is a recipe that should keep Luka happy if Kidd doesnt screw it up.

Totally agree. With a legit starting center, this team is ready to go compete for a title. The question is, is such a player available this off-season with the assets the Mavericks have left? Does 2027 FRP and THJ or whatever else get us a Zubac or a Capela or Jarrett Allen?
If not, then I think we?re still at least back to being a solid playoff team.

I don't get the love for Zubac.
He's much better than Powell but he still offers no defense or rim protection.

I think the general feeling isn't so much "love" for Zubac in particular, but that the rest of the team is really good and all we're missing is a remotely serviceable center- which Powell isn't and frankly we haven't had since... Tyson Chandler?? It's been a long, long time.

Zubac can rebound. Good enough for me.
In reality, we just need someone to hold the fort down until Lively comes on. Zubac's production and contract couldn't fit better. And both of them are different players which further fills the need.
