A few points so far.

I think he said Dirk was there.

The team is going to run more and have a very difficult training camp.

Apparently the Musers told him that Avery predicted the Mavs would not make the playoffs next year.

Did anyone hear that?

I don't like hating on Ex-Mavericks (Nash/Fin/etc) because I try to respect what they brought to the city and to the franchise. But, Avery is making it hard for me not to hate him.

Avery will be on TNT tonight, and I'm sure the Mavericks will be a topic of discussion. Tune in everyone.

Avery didn't want him, because HE wanted to fill that role.

The role of that "shrink" sounds really fascinating to me. It should tell you something about Avery's ego that he believed he could fill that role for every player on the team.

It was on the radio with Norm Hitzges. Unless it's in one of his podcasts I'm not sure you'll be able to find it.

said the same thing yesterday...and dang it if it doesn't become more true every time I hear the guy speak...hoop insight leaks out of him.

Every time I hear him speak (especially with the multiple praises of Donnie and Cuban's ability to overhaul roster in just this presser) I get the distinct feeling that Carlisle is expecting some kind of "big move" this off season to improve the roster.

How could that happen without moving Josh?

but I think Avery is just arrogant enough to assume that they would not make the playoffs without him at the helm...He built this team to what it is after all...how could they possibly be predicted to maintain a high level without him and yet again, "the system"?

its obvious they arent moving Dirk or Kidd....and JT just doesn't have that kind of value...

It is a little to early to know how things will go but for right now Carlisle has me inspired by his words. It is great to know I'm not the only Mavs fan feeling this way.

Mark Cuban coming up on The Ticket momentarily....supposedly.

6 months...the NBA off-season kills me.

The NHL starts a full month earlier than the NBA, and only starts their playoffs a week earlier. I don't know why, but that extra month from October to November just pisses me off. We need NBA in early October, dammit. Training camp in September.

how pointed was Chris Arnold's question about playing adapting to your "philosophy" or do you adjust to the skill sets of you players? That was an Avery beating question right there.

good to see that Chris could stop selling warm ups long enough to actually ask a good question.
