Default FOX News is too stupid to insult (Disney's Frozen)

http://www.slashfilm.com/fox-news-frozen-problem/

Quote:
Fox News Says Movies Don’t Have Enough Male Heroes; Cites ‘Frozen’ As Main Culprit

Men have got it tough. Seriously. There are so many movies making us look terrible. We look like bad guys. Like we’re stupid. Every single movie you can think of has a man in it who is evil or dumb. This is a problem that has to stop! There’s not a single movie out there with a man who is smart. Or a hero. Or depicting someone with morals. We’re always Darth Vader and Kevin James rolled into one and it’s not fair.

The biggest problem is this new Frozen movie. You know Frozen, that movie that came out in 2013 which Fox News says is new. Forget that part of the reason it was such a hit was the depiction of women as strong and independent. The real problem is the men of Frozen are stupid! What kind of message is that? This has to stop! Watch a hilariously off-base Fox News Frozen video below, in which the hosts seem to actually believe stuff like the sarcasm above.

LINK: http://video.foxnews.com/v/403154871...#sp=show-clips

Remember when you were a kid and you would joke about “opposite day”? Apparently that happened in this video. Here’s a quote from Penny Nance, the CEO of Concerned Women for America:

It’s not just Disney, but Hollywood in general has often sent the message that men are superfluous, that they’re stupid, that they’re in the way, and if they contribute anything to a family it’s a paycheck. And that is not true, and it’s not good social science

If we lived in a world where Frozen was the only movie that had ever been released, the CEO of Concerned Women for America might have a point. But we don’t live in that world. We literally live in the opposite world that’s being described in that above video. Disney itself releases about 15 movies a year where a man is the hero.

But let’s forget about that. Let’s once again pretend that Frozen is the only movie that has ever been released. Doesn’t Kristoff race back to save Anna? Doesn’t Olaf almost commit suicide to save her? And isn’t Hans, for about 80% of the movie, almost the ideal man?

The question for us as moms, is when we bring our daughter to see ‘Frozen,’ or whatever the movie is, we often have our little boy sitting there, and is this message helpful? We want them to know that they’re essential. We want to raise heroes. We want to raise real men. We want to encourage masculinity and not villainize masculinity.

Oh man, this segment is funny and totally crazy and almost unfathomable. How did this get on television?
BREAKING NEWS: Disney movies have been about princesses for 80 years.

ALSO:

TWO of the top ten movies last year had a female lead character.

FOX News keeps upping the ante with useless, terrible opinions that only affluent, old white men agree with.

I dont know, your job is to provide trusted reporting and you are full o crap. Sorta seems poetic justice to me. Sort of like kerry getting swiftboated.

All of fox news is total bs yet they make millions off it. I guess we just accept all of the subtle bs or stupidity from the majority of the media but just can't stand it when someone blatantly lies?

Only someone slurping liberal talking points would make such a dishonest blanket statement.

Says the neocon...

I actually know plenty of conservative people who think Fox News is a joke. The only people I know personally who watch it are my wife's grandparents. And they are extremely angry and out of touch people I'm afraid.

Yeah, the number of divisive, dishonest narratives being created out of thin air by the spin doctors at FOX News is incalculable.

MSNBC is just as guilty, but they aren't quite as good at it yet.

Reminds me of every liberal network news related show. But, apparently most don't understand this. All of them lean heavily towards one party affiliation or the other. It's no secret. They're all somewhat embarrassing at times. Brian Williams should absolutely be fired and never work in the industry again. But then again, the line of those that need to be fired forms to the left.

you have FoxNews making up shit on the right. and MSNBC making up shit on the left....
... which basically leaves everybody else.

but then there is the group that thinks:

FOXnews == center/lean right
everyothernews outlet == extreme left

and THIS is utter baloney. If you are in that group, you need to get out more

I think the majority of the left lean pretty hard to the left. And obviously, Fox is guilty at times of leaning rather hard to the right.

I thought Bill Maher's was the funniest...

it is probably true... it just doesn;t strike me as something that should be (nor used to be) a left versus right issue.

there used to be many more issues that didn't necessarily fall on left versus right fault lines, and its the detriment of the country that there seems to be a "team scorecard" on almost every issue now.

I wanna get back to the days when you would have a chance to see rural liberals fighting for gun rights against law and order NE corridor urban conservatives that wanted to keep them in teh hands of a strengthened police force. (just as an example, without wanting to start a debate on which of those is better)

Pepsi or Coke, bitch... Don't even think about grabbing a Fanta if you claim to love America.

Right and left are all measured from where you are. Calling the media left-leaning instead of centrist, just means that you are on the right and want more of your own bias in media.

Stupid to right of me,
Stupid to left of me,
Stupid in front
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with idiotic ramblings,
Boldly I rode and well,
Into the jaws of Moronitude
Into the mouth of Hell

(this is what Lord Tennyson really meant... )
