Wow

How dumb are the Craptors?

If we can get him, it's a no-brainer for sure.

They might want one back though. Despite not playing too much, Lowry is not a buy-low candidate. His per-minute stats are off the chart. Much like Bledsoe teams will have to dig deep to get him.

Marion to get the convo started. A first and maybe a young guy (Roddy?) to seal the deal.

Lowry is an upcoming free agent so I think they will be incentivized to move either him or Calderon for a swingman.

Lowry has more appeal (younger, smaller deal).

Would love to have Lowry if we can maintain that max space while doing it.

Would rather see them continue to develop Darren and Roddy over giving up valuable assets for Lowry. There is a reason Calderon is playing over him. Carlisle would likely have some of the same issues with Lowry that he does with our current crop of "point guards".

Wow. Some people are never going to let go of that 40 point game, are they? Roddy is not an NBA caliber player. He's actually regressed in almost every way since his rookie season.

Yeah, Calderon is a better fit with the starting lineup and is immeasurably better as a starter than he is when coming off the bench. It's just Toronto managing their assets. Calderon would be starting here over any of our point guards too. It doesn't mean Lowry isn't better than them too.

Yeah! I'd trade any of our current PGs for Lowry as long as we keep some sort of backup (probably Mike James). I think I'm still one of the few persons that would give Roddy a real shot as backup on this team, but he ain't a starter like Lowry.

Only risk: Kyle has already had different health issues this season and is currently out again.

There is a divide between the front office and the coaching staff on the Lowry/Calderon issue, but the front office prefers Lowry, and the front office signs off on trades.

I think Lowry is a top 10 PG when you consider his elite defense, his rebounding, passing, and three point shooting but the other risk is he seemingly has worn out his welcome and from what I infer is not very well liked by teammates.

You neglected to highlight the pertinent part of my post. Toronto isnt going to just give Lowry away. They'll ask for a 1st(the pick they gave up is most likely going to be top 7 for OKC :O) and a young piece or two most likely. In that case, for that price, give me Darren and Roddy all day. And i like Lowry!

Also you're guilty of using flagrant hyperbole by suggesting Roddy isnt an NBA caliber player. Garrett Temple, Shelvin Mack, Donald Sloan, Darius Morris, mike james! There are far worse backup pg's out there right now.

There are some really good posters around here, yourself included, that have this irrational dislike for Roddy that really just baffles me. Almost as if you want him to fail. Personally, i think he's had some bad luck injury-wise and he's been mismanaged to a certain extent by the coaching staff but he still could turn out to be a really valuable rotation guy for some team at some point.

Yup. Its top 3 protected, so Toronto is going to need a lucky ping-pong
bounce to keep it. Or i guess if they somehow managed to make the playoffs
theyd keep it. Not sure which is actually more likely :P

I'm actually just really hard on Roddy now because I was such an aggressive supporter of him two years ago, and he's been pretty awful when he's managed to stay healthy. If he turned things around and made himself a rotation player or better, nobody (outside of the Mavs organization and Roddy's family) would be happier than I am. But at this point I'd trade him for just about anything of value.
