Not sure I?m going to bother tuning in for this one. Kidd insists on running out the same tired that don?t work, and this team simply isn?t good. Amazing how everyone but Luka has regressed from last season.

Give Luka some rest. Kidd had the audacity to play him 43 minutes. Luka is going to have a stress injury by game 25 at this rate.

Bring up Hardy and let him shoot 20 times. We're going to lose regardless

I really don't see what all the hype is about Wood. Sure, he will give you some offense but that rarely impacts the game when you can't stop anyone

This team is startlingly mediocre. What a shame. The front office has botched just about every move after drafting Luka?now here we are. A team led by one the most entertaining stars in the game yet the team is boring as hell and is about as mediocre as it gets.

You know, it's kinda funny that so many Mav apologists keep mentioning the second half of last season and why we should all be patient. But they mostly seem to forget that the spark came from Covid. Last season was actually eerily similar to this season at this point, and there wasn't much to be hopeful for. Then, half the team goes down with Covid, and we're forced to sign a bunch of g leaguers and bottom feeder FAs to short contracts. That was IMO the energy spark the team needed and why Theo Pinson is even still on this roster. Those desperate players lit a spark under the vets that they just didn't previously have.

And the Mavs could easily repeat that by bringing up Hardy, Dorsey, and Wright. Those three have actually earned it. I almost guarantee it would go over well with the fans. The vets not pulling their weight need to be threatened or we just embrace the tank.

Mavs would be ok if they were hitting 3s. Defenses can sag down low because they aren?t afraid of the 3 pt threat right now. Wood and Luka need to pick and roll. If Luka and Dwight can do it, for sure Wood can. They need to sit THJ and try some other guys. THJ is just a negative right now. His misses are like turnovers and they are very demoralizing. Luka is very hesitant to pass to him. You can see the frustration in Luka when THJ misses. Not sure why Kidd is so stubborn with THJ and Bullock.

The offense wasn?t the problem this time.

The repeated thread of this season is that we can?t defend for shit. It?s not the loss of Jb? he was not a top five defensive player. It?s not Wood? he?s actually one of our best defrtg guys. It?s the returning guys suddenly unable to do anything right.

It?s also Luka who repeatedly shits the bed in the fourth. 20/33/50 split on shooting (1-5, 1-3, and 3-6 on FTs)

Something is rotten in Dallas. Players don?t get along or everyone hates Kidd, but theirs is something foul and rotting here and not a thing is changing.

Second night of a B2B against a great team.
The Mavericks are 1-5 in their last 6 games... with Warriors next (Tues 6:30 TNT)
THJ 2-8 with 6 points in 21 min.
Green is our best two way player and its barely even close and should play 35 min a night.
5th year of the Luka era and we are under .500 a 1/4 of the way through the season.
Luka playing like an MVP and no major injuries it's pretty bad of the org not to put the right pieces around Luka.
And Kidd? I think we are REALLY missing coach Igor Kokokov (now with Nets)

Not even angry anymore. Just really disappointed and dejected because FO sucks just like they always have. They will never be able to build a great team around Luka.

When I look around at all the other superstars they all have players around them.

We have to mix things up. Kidd is ramming his broken ideas further into the season. We have vets in dfs, Bullock and thj who aren't coming close to pulling their weight. DP tries hard but he is just not the guy Kidd seems to think he is.

Luka isn't defending well and isn't moving the ball late in games. His blow bys are hurting our team defense. It's hard to be mad at a kid who creates and scores the way he does. Carrying this team of lackluster talent takes a toll.

We need an infusion of youth and hustle. How much more proof does Kidd need that 3 guys who play key roles are costing us games. THJ is definitely unplayable. If Hardy is unplayable, then at least we are trying to bring on young talent, who can actually create and score....and dribble the fn basketball.

It was obvious that Kidd was over thinking rotations when he announced Wood wouldn't start. Now it's about 20 games into the season and the only thing we have learned is, Bullock and Thj are spot minute guys. Dfs will have an ok game every 4 games. Powell...is still Powell. We locked up McGee for 3 years with a promise to start and some how Powell took his mins. Lol

Yes everyone is craving for Wood and Luka to play together more. But that tandem as he pointed out has been absolutely terrible together defensively.

What they give you on offense gets voided on defense.

I'm by no means defending Kidd but his hands are tied this year because he knows this team can't compete in the playoffs if they can't play defense.

If they want to play Wood, Luka and Dinwiddie big minutes together they sure as hell better figure out something to put defense around them. I mean of that trio you have to hide 3 guys on the floor defensively and right now the Mavs just don't have the capable players.

Which is really shocking to me because I thought coming into the season with McGee, DFS and Bullock they would be more balanced. Green might be the guy who needs to start becoming the primary wing defender because I think at this point he's elevated himself above both DFS and Bullock

Nick was one of the biggest defenders of the Kidd decision to bring wood off the bench. If that were working thrn I'm sure everyone would have grown to be ok with it.

Problem is, is not remotely working. Dfs and Bullock are getting blown apart defensively. They're both terrible. They aren't contributing on either side of the ball. Mc gee is a huge let down too, he's been poor defensively. Thj is actually just in the way of any progress. He's such a negative when he's out there.

Idc If Wood doesn't work in the SLU, it's just dumb to not give it 10 games and try it at this point.

Just not sure you can play great defense in the modern NBA. I know we were good last season, but now it feels forced and the guys aren't responding.

And all the defense in the world will never make up for guys missing shots. Still a make it or miss it league. That's why it's paramount to fix in the offense first, and then ease your way back to defending. Trying to do both at the same time has been a total failure. And the team is dreadfully un-fun to watch.

And it does suck that Wood always gets singled out with his D when I don't think ANYONE on the roster has been very good on that end minus maybe Green.

We were all surprised to make it to WCF last year. Fresh coach helped motivate and we put it all together at the right time, with huge step up from JB.

We need to put it all together and play both sides of the ball and get guys individual playing at their best. However, we don't have a talented modern era roster. No 2 way players is too much for Doncic to single handedly make up for. Ita been the case for too long now. We are just not a championship build atm. Kidd has fuct up rotations but a few of the guys we have been able to rely on before are not producing whatsoever so I doubt the best coach in the world can get us back to WCF level.
