Default Tough Road Ahead

I think at 22 games into the season we should know alot about this team.

Phoenix W
New York W
@Denver L
Minnesota W
@San Antonio L
Portland W
@Memphis L
San Antonio W
Houston W
Utah W
Detroit W
@Minnesota L
Seattle W
@Houston W

17 - 5 This can be done, if we continue to hold teams to 40% shooting.

Yeah, the Mavs haven't really faced many good teams so far. Only time will tell but it it nice to get off to such a good start anyway.

Getting wins early are really valuable for this team while they are getting their legs under them. If they had gotten off to a poor start we wouldn't have been that surprised, this is good gravy.

That really is a brutal stretch coming up. Two each against SA, Minny, and Houston. Utah. Detroit. Memphis. Hell, even Seattle's looking tough. Lots of good teams in that stretch. And the Memphis game and BOTH Wolves games (deja vu - clearly somebody in the scheduling department has been paid off by the Wolves) come on the second night of a back-to-back. I'd hope for the Mavs to earn at least a split in the three spread out home-and-home's, and keep it to three or fewer losses in the remaining games.

I think Dallas would have to be pretty ecstatic with winning each home game in this stretch, not to mention not dropping any games on the road similar to the Orlando game (although the way Denver is playing right now and with their injuries, Orlando is a tougher opponent). But, better to get some tough games in right away, as opposed to the year in which the Mavs started 14-0 but seemingly didn't play the Kings, Lakers or Spurs until after the all star break, and ended up losing homecourt down the stretch to the Spurs.

Last year all our Minnesota games were the second night of back-to-backs as I recall. One year might be a coincidence... but two?
