I feel like this has to happen sooner than later with Jalen if we want to retain him this summer. He’s UFA but we have his Bird Rights but if starting is important to him than we owe him that at this point. Would be easier if we had Dragic or someone like him to lead 2nd unit.

Well that would actually make getting Dragic more important. Frank has been a surprise, but he isn't really a lead guard. We need vet pg to run the second unit.

KP played very well tonight and mostly within himself, while still maintaining aggressiveness. With this version of KP we are a dangerous team. I just don’t trust the guy to stay healthy.

I missed out on watching this incredible game live. Oh well. I was hanging out with Eva Strangelove and had an awesome night. Shit happens.

Wow! Luka was triple teamed and still swished in that buzzer beater to win it! I'm impressed. Also I watched enough to believe in KP. Dallas will be dangerous.

Good to get the W. You hate to see the prolong runs that got them back in the game. 15-1 or something is tough.
Dwight the ding dong Powell is always falling, getting his face in the way of the opponents. Like a keystone cop.
Wtf is Reggie Bullocks deal. How long does he get a pass? He has been bad.

Bullock's had flashes of good play but the shooting has not been as advertised for sure
S Brown already in the doghouse where he belongs - if he can't shoot either then might as well play Josh some minutes and develop him
Frank hitting some shots - seems like he's not hesitant at least - incredibly he's still the young guy on the roster that shows the most promise.

Was listening the guy Nick Angstadt from mavs locked on podcast and he spoke of how that substitution of Powell for KP almost ruined this game.
I think Kidd is really trusting this dude way too much.....

Yeah i just noticed their record.
On paper they have a good team so I suspect they will turn it around at some point.
I just think RC needed a fresh just as much as the Mavs team needed a fresh start.

Bullocks defense was stellar. Don’t know why you’re targeting him if you watched the game. He’s also not afraid to shoot. THJ was way worse last night. No defense, and just looked lost.

Agree about Bullock's D, it is solid but I would like to see him more involved in the offense.
Seems like certain players (Wright, JRich, etc...) have a hard time getting acclimated to playing with Luka and it appears Bullock and Brown might be in that same category.
And THJ is simply too inconsistent to be in the role he is playing.
That is going to become a real problem for this team at some point if it isn't already.

I don't know where THJ got the idea that he can hit stepback 3's but that crap needs to stop immediately

Next time the Mavericks play the Celtics, and the game is tied towards the end of regulation I wonder what the Celtics will do when the ball is in Luka's hands. Twice now Luka has hit game winners against them.

His defense was pretty good but that's not what I would call stellar. He was aggressive at times but over aggressive sometimes too. He fouled Tatum for no reason after the team played 21 seconds of great defense and the dude wasn't even shooting or really in position to.
He's shooting 33% as a 3pt specialists and he's worse at dribbling than Dfs. Maybe even a worse than DP. Idk if you are watching the games or not but he's constantly picking up his dribble for no good reason halting the possession. The threw the ball away in a panic on one of them too. I don't WANT him to play poorly but I had definitely hoped he would be better than he has been. It's still early and I'm hopeful he will turn it around. I really want him to, hell I though he might push THJ or Dfs to the bench when I heard the trade.
I don't disagree about THJ. I'm not a fan and wish we didn't resign him. He has never played defense or been good at anything other than shooting, and even though his stroke is nice, you can't count on it.

He should be. He can come in and shoot all the junk shots he wants with Frank at point and not many other scoring options in the 2ns unit.
It would be nice if he had earned the starting role back by improving a weakness, but that didn't happen. He's the same THJ that was making 16m and got moved to the 6th man because he couldn't play defense and was way too streaky. Brunson has earned that S5 spot this season.

KP looked gassed though. I think Kidd left him in a little longer than he wanted to in the 4th because he was playing out of his mind for a stretch. I agree about Powell though.

Bullock should be fine. His 3pt % will keep creeping up. He’s a good defender. Nice to have another wing, especially with Maxi out. But he has no handles. That’s not really going to change unfortunately.
