My wife was literally crying because the Mavs were getting any fouls. We probably hugged for about a minute because this series was so draining. I love the Mavs! They fought hard thru this one. Mavs were the better team and they won!

This game just goes to further my belief that basketball is one sport where the best team almost always wins a 7-game series. I'm a hardcore hockey fan & that isn't true in that sport & that can be an exciting thing & it can also be the most frustrating thing in the world. Best team wins is a security that's nice to have. The reason, when it all comes down to it, that I thought we were going to win this game tonight was I really thought, finally, we were the best team.
Thanks all, for sharing the great night. I've gotta go attempt to sleep so I can get up & read as many articles as I can about the Mavs tomorrow as opposed to doing actual work. G'nite, and GO MAVS.

The board's not working all that well. I tried to put a message through just now, and it didn't take.
At any rate, I'm heading down to Love Field to cheer the boys home. Piedmont Terminal, on the east side of the airport, by Lemmon, if anyone wants to join.
GO MAVS!!!!

Charles Barkley just said that Dirk should have been the MVP.
First time I've ever heard Charles that definitive.

I just posted this is a thread of its own, but Diop broke his nose on the first play of overtime and still beat the spurts.

I cant talk right now because I lost my voice screaming...
Best mavs game of ALL time. This whol SERIES was absolutely incredible. We were like 10 points away from sweeping the spurs, and they could have just as easily beaten us 4-1. But I just can't believe how clutch this team is. ALL SEASON LONG. So incredibly clutch. It came down to one 5 minute over time and we willed it to happen. God I love this team.
I love you all. Good night. Time for revenge on that bastard #13.

Back from Love Field. An exciting scene. Reminded me of 1992, when the Cowboys were winning their first Super Bowl in the modern era.
About 300 fans were there, approximately half of them wearing Mavericks jerseys. Channel 11 news was there, as was The Ticket. I got there about 12:30, with the plane due to land about 12:45. I listened to the Ticket guy pick up interviews, I watched the crowd pick up chants here and there, I watched *very* closely the girl in the short shorts standing atop the Yukon waving a Mavericks flag.
About ten minutes to midnight, a white plane proudly bearing the Mavericks logo on its tail came down to the runway, to the cheers of the crowd. As the folks came off the plane, the crowd chanted "Let's go, Mavericks!"
Then everyone moved to the parking lot exit and awaited the players and others to leave in their cars. The first recognizable face was Del Harris, smiling from ear to ear and holding his hand out from his Lexus sedan to pick up some high fives. I gladly slapped hands with the Silver Fox.
Then, as we were awaiting the rest of the team, a little Lexus convertible approached the end of the parking lot and then turned inside the gate and began honking his horn. Mark Cuban shook his fist outside the window, and the crowd was merry.
Back in line behind various other personnel, Cuban took a very slow exit outside the airport, slapping hands with as many as he could.
I declined.
In turn the coaches and players passed by the adoring throng, but only a few opened their windows for greetings. Dirk, Harris, and Benga gave high-fives to the crowd. Dirk seemed especially excited. The rest passed with windows closed.
It was fun to see them all, and fun to do my part to give thanks to the home team.
I tried to start a chant of "We want Phoenix!", but no one seemed interested.
What a night, fellow Mavericks fans. What a night!

Sounds like you were one of the peeps that left the original gathering spot early, chum.. at the fence where everyone was originally standing to watch the plane come in, after everyone had gotten off the plane, Cuban pulled up in his coupe and got out. People cheered him for a minute and he kinda gave us a "be patient" hand signal and a few minutes later, the whole team strolled nice and slow across the tarmack (kinda "Right Stuff style", posers..) to the fence, waving and giving what little high-fives you can give through a fence. This lasted a few minutes, then the players left and AJ came over in his SUV, did the same little walk along the fence, then drove off.
Never saw Del or any of the other coaches over on that side, but I'd say since you got to give Del a high five, you win. Del is money.
Some dope called into the syndicated Sporting News radio on the Ticket saying there were "thousands" of fans at the airport and it was "like Mardi Gras," so I got one of my buddies to call in and set them straight. It was cool, but it's only the second round.

Damnit, I would have liked to have seen that scene. That's what I get for following the crowd.
But you are right, Del is money. And you are right, it was only the second round. I wonder if they win the title on the road if they will arrive at the same spot. If so, I'll be better informed for next time! Thanks for the tips.

I'm still having goosebumps while sitting in the office at work, the tiredness from last night slowly kicking in.
I made a print-out that I put on my office wall just above my Dirk Jersey that reads: "F THE SPURS!! WCF, BABY!!!"
I am so freaking happy right now. Already thinking about going home and watching the replay.
Way to go Mavs!!!

There was the last minute when the sp*rs went up with ginobblis shot on youtube.
I'm not sure who said it but jason really, really did leave ginobbli. I guess that was what jason was talking about with respect to a huge mistake. It WAS...

I'm gonna have to watch game 7 again. Last time, I spent the entire second half curled up on the floor in a fetal position.
