Considering he said he "doesn't want the western conference championship" I wouldn't be too sure about that

Would if I could but I'm in a college dormitory so that option isn't available to me.

Yeah, not too sure what Cubes is thinking here but it doesn't really matter nonetheless.
We were second place and despite that being encouraging, it is nothing to get too excited or proud about.
Let's get this season started and earn the banner we should be raising tonight.
Go Mavs.

Winning the championship woulda been huge, duh! But beating Phoenix and the Spurs was a haaard challenege; each a championship in itself IMO. The Mavericks Western Conference Title (what critics said we weren't even gonna win) was major ! Do you think if we didn't win the West, these same critics would have picked us #1 this year for like the first time ever?
I could see if the West was full of sorry butt teams, but we had some tough competition. So winning that was a major accomplishment.

Cuban knows raising that flag during tonight's game would bring a whole different Spurs team in the arena tonight. Something to even make them more motivated.

I think they're going to be plenty motivated enough.
I'm not having the highest hopes for tonight the more that I think about it.....

Says the Finley apologist.
The spurs will need to be "even more motivated" to win this entire season. They are less talented, less athletic, and older than every other team trying to bury them. Putting up a piece of cloth isn't gonna get them emotionally amped up - Every single member of that decaying franchise know that after Crybaby Timothy, all they have going for them is emotion.

i seriously doubt if they had raised the banner before last night's game that tnt would have cut down on the barkley facetime to actually show it.
they might have played a 10 second clip showing the banner in the rafters and a shot of cuban prancing like a goof. then it would have been back to barkley...
heck, i'm wondering how much fsw will show of the ceremony. i hope they take 10 minutes out and show it, but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't do that much on it.

From an outside perspective it looks like fear. If the Mavs didn't put up the banner at all I could understand and appluad that mentality of only a Championship Banner will due. But delaying the ceremony by a day, something that no other franchise has ever done, IMO implies the Mavs fear the Spurs. The Mavs just can't seem to walk the walk.

Anyone know why you guys didn't raise the banner before Game 1 of the finals? Seems like that would have been the logical time to do it.

Maybe there isn't enough time to make the banner. Every NBA team that's ever raised a banner has done it on the first home game of the next season.

Mavs have some beautiful blondes in the audience--are their skirts the ones you talk about?
