Just an idea (this ones actually original)
Dallas trades: PF Antoine Walker (17.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 4.9 apg in 37.7 minutes)
2004 1st rounder
Dallas receives: C Theo Ratliff (7.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 30.0 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 34.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.5 ppg, +6.5 rpg, and -1.9 apg.
Atlanta trades: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (20.4 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.7 apg in 36.5 minutes)
C Theo Ratliff (7.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 30.0 minutes)
Atlanta receives: C Dikembe Mutombo (6.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.6 apg in 29 games)
PG Charlie Ward (8.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.8 apg in 29 games)
PF Antonio McDyess (9.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 12 games)
Dallas's 2004st rounder
NY's 20042nd rounder
Change in team outlook: -2.9 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and +3.0 apg.
New York trades: C Dikembe Mutombo (6.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.6 apg in 25.3 minutes)
PG Charlie Ward (8.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.8 apg in 24.3 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 34.1 minutes)
PF Antonio McDyess (9.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 24.3 minutes)
20042nd Rounder
New York receives: PF Antoine Walker (17.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 4.9 apg in 27 games)
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (20.4 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.7 apg in 30 games)
Change in team outlook: +1.4 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and -1.1 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to Dallas, Atlanta, and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Atlanta, and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Heres why
Dallas: Gets rid of walker and adds 2 guys that will play D and board and dont care too much about their numbers
Atlanta: For them this is all about the future. If McDyess plays well they can sign him and try to build and if not his contract is up. Ratliff and Rahimm want the hell out so this clears their locker room. Ward and McDyess come off the books after this season so it gives them a lot of cap flexibility. They also get two draft picks
New York: Something needs to be done to shake this town up. And what a way to do it. Bring in Walker and Abdur Rahim. McDyess wont be there next year and Thomas wants the hell out.

Well....Walker WOULD enjoy the National Attention he'd get in New York. Hmmm.....

This was SUPPOSED to be a picture of Toine....But I guess even the Forum itself got sick of seeing him...

RE: Just an idea (this ones actually original)
I also forgot to add that both thomas and ratliffs deals are over after next year...
this gives us a rotation like this
Ratliff/ Thomas/Fortson
Dirk/Thomas/Fortson
Jamison/Howard
Finley/Howard
Nash/Delk
thats kinda scary
this would also effectively end small ball

I like what your trying to do here Jamisonite, except the 2003 1st round pick. No way we give up Josh Howard .

RE:Just an idea (this ones actually original)
lets do it. Im assuming you are talking about next year's draft pick? Id have to think about it a little more if Howard was involved.
Would Atlanta want Mutombo back?

RE:Just an idea (this ones actually original)
I kinda like this trade. Not sure if Atlanta and NY do it. NY did get Isiah and he'll want to make a change. Atlanta might do it to change their image. It would be a good trade for the Mavs. Although, I think Nellie is too in love with his point forward idea. Would the deal still work with Jamison?

I thought 2004 first rounder went to Boston in the Walker deal.
Otherwise, it's interesting.
