Why are the Mavs even playing their starters? They are locked for 4th place. Rest Dirk, Terry and Josh. Give the rookies time to develop. Treat these as pre-season games! Now is the time to experiment. The Mavs should be more concerned about injuries. If someone gets injured, (knock on wood), who you gonna blame?

Dirk doesn't want rest for one. He just recently said that he doesn't want to reduce his minutes going into the playoffs for fear of getting out of rhythm. Josh is just coming back from an injury and probably still needs some work finding his groove. Terry has been cold and probably needs to find his rhythm as well.

Of course Dirk will say he doesn't want to rest. He'd be labeled a slacker. AJ should understand that Dirk needs to rest and be fresher in the playoffs. Josh looks pretty good and his hammy probably could benefit from more rest.

I think they just don't need to be pushed. Getting rest happens throughout the year, not with the last 3 games left.

Dirk said that he doesn't want to be rested BECAUSE he thinks it'll interrupt any rhythm that he has going into the playoffs. It has nothing to do with being labeled a 'slacker'.
