Story on Sears - if true, they will be at the top of my Christmas shopping list
I've heard a story, but have not been able to validate if true or not.
If anyone else here has some links or some sources to verify the following, please do. This is actually a pretty good and cool story, regarding Sear. Basically, I have been told that Sears is truly supporting the troops. As it stands, today when a reservist is called to Military duty, the only thin that companies have to do is hold the position open for that individual. Basically ensuring they have a job when they return from duty. Well, I have heard that Sears is going above and beyond...basically reviewing what the soldier employees will get paid by the military and then adding enough to pay the difference for what the military is not covering. In addition they are compensating the soldier employees for additional company medical coverage. Basically, they are doing their part to take care of the soldiers and there famillies who are associated with Sears as employees. Again, if this is indeed true, then I will do my part to buy my christmas gifts this season through Sears!!! It's one thing to support the troops through words, and quite another to support the troops through deeds. Oh ya, and they have set up some type of registry for soldiers to provide "Christmas Wish List" in which folks like you and I can go on and buy gifts for Soldiers and their families!!! Again, I am searching to get more information, but if you folks who are much more computer savvy than I can update any details, it would not only be greatly appreciated but also provide some information for others to get linked in and promote something that could truly bring some Christmas Joy to some great folks serving to keep us living in Freedom!!! I don't know about sears, but I'm pretty sure Blackwater USA ensures that soldiers have a job when they return home.

what about Home Depot? I know they are big into ensuring jobs for olympic athletes. I would assume that they would extend that for those that are actually serving in our military.

By law, all companies have to keep a job open for emplyees called into action.
The key with Sears is that not only are they keeping the job open...they are paying to ensure that the employees are full compensated. If anyone has a list of companies doing this, please provide it... If Home Depot is also paying their employees while away on active duty, then please let us know!!! I can't even imagine the $$$ cost of companies such as Sears and Home Depot. Not to mention, they are doing it as a genuine show of support, not because of some law. Any retail company that takes care of it's soldiers in this way is the type of retail company that I am more than willing to spend my money at!!! On the reverse side, if there are any companies who do not support our soldiers, I would like to know as well so that I can put them on my do not shop at list!!! |

It's true. I found out about it a year or so ago and so all of my car maintenance (batteries, oil changes, other items) I always get at sears now. In fact it's a win-win. You can drop your car off and then go wander the store and usually a Mall at the same time.

Hey - I'm just saying as long as there are mercenaries, soldiers can get better paying jobs after they leave the ranks of the US armed forces.
But it doesn't speak too highly of our men in uniform to say that a bunch of mercs are the reason we're winnin' over there, does it?
