Default A sad story

AP Wire: October 12, 2005

A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her.

When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Houston Texans, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Hah, greatness. I saw this a few weeks ago with a different subject matter, but it was hilarious because I didn't suspect anything wrong until the very end of it.

Mary already read the thread yesterday, wrote a response, hit the cancel button and walked away.

Sounds like a rehashed Cincinnati Bengal joke anyway.

i've watched a lot of football in my day and i honestly believe the Texans have an outside shot to go 0-16. they are so bad it hurts. they consistently ruin my sundays! at least the cowboys only ruin my sundays half the time...

I've seen this about 5 times already this year...just substitute Houston Texans with Arkansas Razorbacks.

Its hard to root for an 0-16 season. But after watching the USC/Notre Dame game yesterday...I'm pretty damn close.
