I don't have a problem Dirk playing 32 min if the Mavs get a win, but I don't think 32 min will be enough against the Knicks.

Who knows? If the game is close, of course he gets more minutes. If you are up >10 with 1 or 2 minutes left, sure sub him out and give him some extra minutes of rest.
