Love for Cubes - Sportsline article
We are blessed, Mavericks fans.
Coaching changes, league rule changes, uber-competitive conference and division, player turnover - no difference. Even when a cornerstone leaves, is cut or will retire, so long as a franchise is okay up top.. they'll hang.
And we have the best owner in professional sports - possibly of all-time.

The article makes it sound like Cuban was the reason Dallas started winning in 2000 when in reality it had much more to do with Dirk, Finley, Nash and Nellie who were already Mavs at the time.

Great article, Cuban has done so much for this franchise. I don't see how so many people hate this guy.

I agree, talent isn't everything. Look at Memphis this year as a good example of that. They only really lost Shane Battier, replaced him with Gay (who is probably better or will be) and they are terrible. Franchises need positive light on the players, coaches, gm, and owner. All four of those are terrific for us right now. Lets hope it stays that way.

another post on cuban-love -- here
two-things about the cuban era mavs....
1. you never hear guys saying they want to be dealt somewhere else...
2. you frequently hear guys bemoaning the fact they were dealt somewhere else (nash, finley)...
sez to me that players want to play in dallas, and that's a good thing.

We're very fortunate to have Cuban as our owner.
I feel sorry for fans of..say, the Bobcats

You don't want MJ as an owner? q=) He said they are going to spend money to get top talent. and c'mon! it is MJ! although he did wreck Kwame Brown's confidence & career.

Nothing against MJ as a player. But I'd rather have an owner who emails the fans, talks with them, sits amongst them, than one who writes a public letter to them. If he can convince their GM to spend some money though, more power to him.
