no it shouldnt. you dont have to move out of the way. ever. restricted circle or not. if someone runs into you(and you were already set) it should never be a foul on you. sadly the nba has let people get into the "creating contact" mindset so most people dont see it that way anymore but a big should never be called for a foul just for standing his ground and putting his hand up in the air.

Did anyone notice Grant Hill calling a timeout after Ginobli made that layup with 1.8 seconds left? They were out of timeouts and lucky the refs didn't call a technical.

Not sure they were that "lucky," as it's not like they made a shot and ended up winning after that.

it just sucks how lots of teams get down or have a bad quarter, but then the good teams find a way to come back and at least make the game close. the spurs did it, and ended up winning the game. When the same things happens to the mavs, we end up losing by 14.

at least this picture is sweet....

shaq has his hand in the air. it's that his hand was not over his own shoulder, it was forward which is not verticle space. it should have been a foul. but seriously, if there is so much dialog as to whether it was a foul or not, i am OK with the no call.

the thing i was disappointed about was shaq got a long series of no-calls from the time he got his fifth foul through two overtimes.

^^Rockets, too! That is what really pissed me off last night. They just found a way to lose. They were down 12, then went up by three midway through the third. The rest is history as Utah torched the Rockets. Hoping for a better game tomorrow.

Things that pissed me off:

1. T-Mac not driving. Yeah his shoulder was hurting, but he could have still drove in more. He had too many jumpers.

2. Bobby Jackson. 1-7 from three, and the majority of those were uncontested shots. Second, this guy trips and falls before (four seconds) halftime on a fastbreak. This would have cut the came to just four points.

3. Scola. Scola needs to stop complaining to the refs and get with the team in the huddle. He also needs to watch his handling because he almost lost the ball a few times in the paint.

4. The last one that I can write right now. Ric Adelman. Why do you pull Deke out of the game after he just blocked Carlos Boozer for the second time (and his third block of the game) in the third quarter? Why put Hayes in? Mutombo was not tired and was waiving at Hayes to go back. Keep the old man in there and let him give Boozer more fits.

Hoping for a change on Monday. I know the Rockets won't win this series, but I don't want a sweep. Hoping to see six, or seven games.

stick a fork in 'em..the nuggets are done and the first quarter isn't even over.

Every basket that the lakers have gotten has been in the paint within a few feet of the bucket..

No defense = sweep

Good to see that knee jerk reactions aren't limited to those situations involving the Mavs.

The only chance they have is for Kobe to stay as cold as he is right now.

J.R. Smith has the creepiest tatoos in the league.

Haha, Anthony Carter went by Kobe like it's nothing. If aliens came down to watch the Laker game today they would say put Coby Karl in the game he can't be much worse than this Kobe guy.

Denver is horrible defensively. They dont even try to move their feet or communicate. If criticizing another team can make you feel better about your own team-- watching Denver makes me feel great about Dallas' D.

Joey Crawford was 3 minutes away from being suspended for life by the NBA, but then he came through late and managed to put Kobe into double digits free throw attemps by calling two touch fouls and 2 techs on Iverson. Thats clutch.

The Pistons-Sixers game was good. I'll be keeping a watch on that series for sure. I couldn't believe how bad the Pistons failed to execute down the stretch.

I thought the Lakers-Nuggets game was boring. I didn't watch after the 1st half. I was disappointed and thought the Nuggets would show more hunger.

The first half was pretty good, the Nuggets kept it close and were up 7 or 8 at a couple different times. They just completely folded in the second half though.

Yup

With the Nuggets though I never had confidence that they would actually win.

Looking at the Nuggets roster they should be better than the 8th seed. They went with a 8 man rotation today but they're solid atleast 10 players deep. They have two superstars and the best shot blocker in the league. Solid role players at the 4 spot. Last season they were I believe the 7th seed but they made the AI trade around midseason. I thought they'd contend for the best record in the league this year and I guess to an extent they did being the West was so deep but they're inconsistent as hell.

Stern resorts to foul play in order to ensure a Lakers-Celts finale....

No players injured as Nuggets' team bus catches fire

Nuggets' Bus Catches Fire Prior To Game 1 With Lakers

LOS ANGELES -- Several Denver Nuggets players were stranded on the highway for about a half hour Sunday when the team bus broke down on the way to Staples Center for a playoff opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nuggets, who lost to the Lakers 128-114, should have it known wasn't going to be their day.

The bus left the team's hotel about 2½ hours before tipoff as scheduled, but experienced problems about 15 minutes into the trip, club spokesman Eric Sebastian said. Players and staff had to wait on the Santa Monica Freeway.
"There was a pop, black smoke, there was another pop, more black smoke," Sebastian said. "We rushed off the bus. We were standing on the side of the road."

The Nuggets' second bus, which left the team hotel about 30 minutes after the first one, stopped to pick up their teammates. The entire team made the rest of the trip to the arena, arriving about 90 minutes before game-time.
"It was a good bonding experience," Sebastian said with a smile.

Marcus Camby, J.R. Smith, Linas Kleiza and rookie guard Taurean Green were among the players on the first bus.

"It wasn't scary; it was just a little frustrating," Green said. "All we could do is stand around. You don't want to start off the first series being delayed to the arena."

Nuggets coach George Karl was on the second bus. When told what happened, his response was: "Go pick 'em up."

"It was fine," he added. "It was a little pressure relief -- laugh a little bit."

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

I feel that the Detroit Pistons have been the most overrated team in the past few years. Sure they made Eastern Conference Finals for a few years but would they get past the first round in the West? Everytime the Pistons lose people just make up excuses. "They were being lackadaisical." "They haven't been playing with fire we normally see." "They weren't playing their best." Can't you say that about most teams? If they lose they weren't playing their best? Maybe other teams were causing them not to play their best?

Maybe perhaps...they aren't that good??

The Pistons are good, they just have a really bad habit of getting complacent. They don't appear to be as focused now as they were under Larry Brown. Under Flip Saunders they've started to take teams lightly.

Also...

Did anyone watch the Rockets/Jazz game? In an interview they asked Tmac why he hasn't won a playoff series yet..and he said something along the lines of ... "It wasn't just me out there..look at my teammates too."

At the beginning of last year's series he said "If we don't win...it is all on me. All on me."

Talk about a 180 / throwing your teammates under a bus. I guess we should've known that since he has no balls.
