Successful Scenario
Due to Dallas, Indiana, and Utah being over the cap, the 25%
trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Indiana, and Utah had to be no
more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the
trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade
satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement.

Why Dallas does it: Gets 3 expiring contracts plus 2 useable players(if healthy) which is a big if with these two.

Why Indiana does it: They get Finley who Bird loves, free up space at the 2 with jones gone. A upgarde at that position.

Why Utah does it: They want a return on the oft injured Harpring. Jones is a young athletic prospect. a backcourt partner for Williams?

Just a thought, Indy might not do it but I know Fred Jones name was in the papers as a possible trade block name. Let me know what you think.
