Would this be acceptable?
Dirk, Reyshawn Terry
For
Ray Allen, Big Baby, Leon Powe, Gabe Pruit, picks?
Its not rebuilding, it's taking another shot with a less stellar star but with a much improved bench

The ONLY reason I don't do this trade is because Reyshawn Terry is such a vital piece of our future...

No, it would not be acceptable.

Allright, you stupid Mav fans better get out of your dream of winning a tittle with Dirk. Ain't gonna happen, so trade him. how much better than the deal I supposed are you going to get you think?
Two young PF's and a tweener guard with loads of potential, draft picks and one of the greatest shooters of all time, who seems better to play with Kidd than Dirk.
team a
Dallas' shitload right now
Team B
Damp/Powe/Davis
Powe/Bass/Davis
Howard/Bass/Stackhouse
Ray Allen/Terry/Pruit
Kidd/Terry/Pruit
now put all your money on one of those teams winning a tittle. Give me Team B please.
Ray Allen brings everything Dirk brings for the mavs, and just seems better suited to play of Kidd.
Powe and Big Baby are both better pure INSIDE scorers than Dirk, and are both better post defenders.
And really, nothing better will fall in your laps for Dirk. hoping for a young superstar? Want D. Howard, or Lebron? Maybe something a little less stellar, like Bynum, or even Okafor. Aint gonna happen: Gasol was traded for kwame brown and nothing, remember?
KG for Jefferson Gomes and some guys who'll not be in the league for long.
Actually, Dallas had it's chance, your window is closing fast (two year in a row of getting your as*es kicked in the first round, face it!), and the thing to do is taking another shot now. Dirk will decline faster than you all think!

Dirk > Allen/Powe/Davis
But go ahead and make that trade - I'd love to see Boston win the Championship every year for the next 6 years...

So you think 80 cents on the dollar is a good trade? (at least you're being realistic...)
I'll just keep my dollar, thanks...

Obviously, Boston should have dealt Pierce because they were going nowhere with him...

Well, Pierce was going to ask to be traded last summer if nothing happened. And maybe Dallas should trade their a promising point guard (West) and a top five pick for Ray Allen, and half of their team (including the dunc champion(Green), a large expiring contract(Rattlif), a decent and young promising combo forward(Gomes), a point guard with loads of potential who just needs to get his act together(Telfair), and an all star forward who scores in the paint with the best of them(Jefferson), plus two draft picks for KG). Oh wait, the only young piece left here in Dallas is Bass, who is about the same level as Gomes, at max a valuable glue guy.
Realise it, Dallas ain't going nowhere with Dirk. And 80 cents on the penning is never a bad deal in the nba, that's just how it is.
