PG Mavs vs Rockets: 25 point leads are overrated
The Mavs blew the chance to blew the Rockets out....
Interior defense against Hayes and Scola was just terrible
Terry clanked in the 4th like its playoff time

What is with people starting PGT's before games are over? Is it that exciting to start one?
Three point game with eleven seconds left. Let's tap the brakes.

Na, game was over, no way in hell Terry would brick the FT...oh wait
Edit:To be honest my finger slipped on the post button. Sometimes i prepare them on a time out to kill the stress. I know its bad karma to post too early.

Quick notes:
- Dirk is still not at 100%
- Chandler is the man
- JJ has been surprisingly good so far this year
PS: Please come back Roddy

Oh and now, as a wonderful bonus, we actually have TWO PGT's. Some games we don't even have one.

7 different Mavs scored in double digits tonight - Chandler (21), Barea (19), Dirk (18), Terry (15), Kidd (11), Sasha (11) and Marion (10).
At least we're getting balanced production on offense...

I sincerely hope Dirk will get his hops back and his rebounding energy going come April, because this team is going absolutely nowhere without it. Or so I think.

Why couldn't Barea step up like this when Dirk was injured?
(don't get me wrong - better late than never...)

Yeah, but i would have to think hard about this one: http://basketball.realgm.com/tradech..._trade/5826135
I hope he got some confidence and his shooting stroke back because the last games he played against terrible defences, wont happen so often again.

Hell, I don't see why the Clipshow wouldn't do that. Points and rebounds were clogging up their floor spacing, anyway.

We're now 3rd in the West, 2 ½ games behind the Lakers.

Scola + Hayes = 22-31 from the field, 16 rebounds 46 points. Yikes.
I don't really care what Barea does because while I appreciate him showing up I don't see this output from him lasting very long. However, i'm intrigued by what I see from Chandler. I love seeing 20+ from our interior post player. 20 and 15 is Dwight Howard-like.

Pretty obvious when you watch the game. Dirk's mere presence on the floor makes things incredibly easy for JJB. When's he on the court and runs the PnR with Dirk, EVERY time both defenders stick to Dirk like glue giving JJB an easy path to the basket or an open jumper. Without Dirk on the floor, teams actually guard him.

I find it a bit weird that you "don't care" what Barea does because it won't last long, but you're "intrigued" by Chandler dropping 20 and 15.

I still don't understand why he even went in.
Carlisle put Mahimi in at the 4 and he'd only played a few minutes before Carlisle yanked him. Here's what happened RIGHT before Carlisle yanked him:
- On the offensive end Mahimi nails an easy, wide open, 10ft jumper.
- On the defensive end Mahimi draws what was CLEARLY a blatant charge but the refs screw up the call and give him an offensive foul instead. It's his first foul.
Carlise immediately yanks Mahimi and puts in Cardinal.
The second Cardinal went in the Mavs lead started evaporating. It was right at that moment.
I don't get it. Mahimi is playing great at the 4, making things happen and Carlisle yanks him for Cardinal.

Any word on what was wrong with Dirk tonight? I don't think it was his knee this time. Ortegal seemed to think he was sick... and he really did seem like it.
Starting to think Dirk's cursed this year. Such a bummer.

Really, i don´t get it. You are up 20, they lay on the ground, you just need to kill them to have an relaxed night but then let them come back.
Nope, don´t get it.
Dirk´s effort is pretty low right now, his shooting too (becuase of the knee that still affects him).
Chandler was really poor on Defense. Thought Haywood was playing solid and with some energy (despite getting blocked 534 times).
Ahhh btw, thanks JJ for the win!
P.S.: Is there a dumber player than Brooks? He is just terrible as a PG!

I saw Dirk a couple of times stretch/shake his right knee like it was bothering him a couple of times.
Also, when he runs, he runs like an old man, just shuffling feet...not wanting to elevate his legs too much. I think it is going to be along time before he is back to normal...Everytime time he elevates or does a quick turn around, I keep thinking he is going to tweak his knee...I know, because I have had knee problems in the past.

It's still his knee....

On the rather non-Uber-ness of Dirk lately -- he's about five points and three rebounds under his averages . . .

If Dirk is still in the same state in a week or 10 days, do you start consider sitting him for the ASG so he can get 5-7 days off?
I don't want Pop running Dirk's ass for 35 minutes for no reason.

Hey...if Chandler wants to take a game off from defense to score 21 points and grab 15 rbs, then I'll take it.

Absolutely. No question. Even if he looks good by then, he should sit out the all-star game. The rest can only help, play can only hurt.

It's not uncommon for a team or coach to mention to the all star coach not to give their guy much burn if he's dinged up. That way he gets to make an appearance but minimize the playing time.
But then Dirk seems like the kind of guy that would miss it all together and get some rest if he needed it. Rather than add another appearance to his resume.
