Lol when could the Mavs have had Lauri Markannen? He can say he wants to play with Luka all he wants but he realistically was never available.

Clearly he was available because he got traded. Whether we had the assets to obtain him is a different story.

Maybe the first trade to the Cavs where he only cost a FRP and a SRP.

Even then, our FRP would have been five years out because of the KP deal and thus not nearly as appealing.

As for the Cleveland->Utah trade where five FRPs traded spots? We had no chance. All the word out of Utah is that they valued him highly even then and would have cost 2-3 FRPs if he was even available at all.
