Dirk owned Griffin, like Brand did it with him on defense!

Oh and i was surprised with the good D by Collison on Crawford.

That Barnes air-ball was about the best thing anyone's ever seen.

Is it me or does dirks shot just look absolutely lethal the last 10 games or so? Reminds me of 2011 playoffs when every time he touched it, you knew it was going in.

Please let this ignite a fire. Also, congrats to Dirk surpassing Patrick Ewing in all time scoring list. Hopefully he can chase Kevin Garnett sooner than later.

Big game on Thursday. Lets not sleep on it.

His shot motions are coming back to flow. Not to mention his legs look healthier than last season.

This game was great. 500 here we come! Dirk looked like playoff dirk and everyone is stepping up into their roles well.

And yep, I remember Matt Barnes going up for that last three... Completely Open... Certain the tide was turning... And whiffing it compleltely. I think Dallas fans have an extreme hatred for ex-Lakers after the Fisher/TroyMurphey/Lamar fiasco.

Matt Barnes is one of the biggest idiots in the league.

His career highlight was being a role player on the 2007 team, pfff

I like Chris Paul's game, but every time I watch him play, he flops his way out of my utmost respect. Why some players devote so much energy to drawing fouls instead of just playing the game, I'll never understand.

Also, Blake's "What's your problem?" reaction to OJAM's "flagrant" foul, while OJ was making sure he was okay, was extremely lame. Glad he had a shitty game.

Really is hard not to blame the season's woes on Dirk's injury.

Over the last 6 games, he's shot 62.5% from the floor, 50% from three, and 96.2% from the FT line.

Someone is melting down on the Clipperboard (All from one user):

Quote:
How are we supposed to guard dirk without fouling? Every time he flops and any contact is a foul. What are we supposed to do?

I'm just saying that's a big reason why we lost
Quote:
I'm so furious over this game. Can't get over the one sided refs and mostly everyone not showing up in the 4th except cp3.
Quote:
Yeah just because Blake is muscular and stronger then dirk, they call fouls. Blake is just standing still and straight. Any dirk contact they called fouls.
Quote:
Yeah by rules Blake slowed down dirk. The refs aren't following the rules
Quote:
Yeah Blake did deserve that game winner. What a frickin flop by dirk. I can't believe the refs called it. Usually at the end of the game they allow more physical plays and aren't suckered into calling flops. Cheaters...
Quote:
No wonder people think games are rigged.
Quote:
I'm so mad over that Blake griffin offensive foul. I still can't believe the refs got fooled by a flop. I thought they don't like to make calls to influence games? Makes me think whoever made that call was betting on this game or something.

Man I can't get over it. I'm just devastated and furious. We better win tomorrow! Justice needs to be served!
Quote:
Bryan, if somehow we don't get homecourt cause of 1 game, I'm never going to forget this cheat, rigged game.
Quote:
^no question. If the refs were fair we would all be celebrating this win. Man I'm so devastated. This just ruined my day.
Quote:
Yeah but dirk gets the royal fricken treatment.
Quote:
Yeah laker fans were actually cheering for us for a change. Dirks flop was ridiculous though. All 3 TNT analysts said he flopped, acted and the refs shouldn't have made the call.
Quote:
I've always hated dirk cause he plays like a girl thats a 7 footer. But I hate him more now.
No mentioning of the bs call against James, the "charge" from Carter against Griffin and the block from Griffin where he pushed Mayo with his body (those were the missed late/crucial ones)...

And with Paul and Griffin on the team, it's paradox that their fans call other teams/players floppers.

The Clippers flopped all game, and got pretty much every call in the 4th. For some people to still sit there and say they got robbed is beyond annoying. They should be more upset about DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin's vanishing act. Looks like they aren't shxt without Chris Paul spoon-feeding them easy dunks. Enjoy your L, Clipper Fans.

It honestly blew my mind reading their comments on the forum talking about how dirk gets all the calls, refs are bought out by the mavs etc.

Hey, we gotta have some fun after an otherwise inconsistent, dreary season. That was the most fun I've had watching a Mavs game since June of 2011. Even if we don't make the playoffs, we got a slice of pure, playoff-style basketball last night and a dominating performance from Dirk. The Matt Barnes' "baby arm" 3-point attempt was icing on the frickin' cake!

This was an absolutely amazing win. What I got from the game:

1. Team chemistry has improved dramatically. Excellent ball movement. At times seemingly being able to predict team mate's positions. Nice try on the alley-oops, but we're not quite there yet.

2. Dirk. I must admit I questioned his abilities post injury. The last 5 or 6 games have proved me wrong. If he continues at his current pace, we are seeing a Dirk even better than that of 2011. He wants to win, and its rubbing off on the rest of the team.

3. OJ Mayo...clutch? While he shot pretty poorly through the majority of the game, his clutch offense at the end was a huge reason for the win. Aned only 1 turnover. Really hoping we're seeing him turn the corner now.

4. Brand, not sure where you were hiding your defense earlier in the season, but we're loving it now!

5. Collison, take a breath dude. Slow down. You'll get your shots, no need to check into the game and spaz out.

6. Kaman, please continue to warm the bench...

I think he has rounded back to form, but what I saw last night shows me that when he WANTS to open up his full arsenal he can and it changes everything! It's about his desire at this point. I hope it continues until we die this season, we're obviously going to need it.

That guy must be completely delusional. But I guess having the two leading floppers in the league on your own team in Paul and Griffin makes you immune to have a neutral view on a game. I can't even count the amount of flops by Paul and Griffin you can find on e.g. youtube. Just ridiculous. No wonder by basketball fans worldwide the Clips are not labelled anymore as "Lob-City", but as "Flop-City" instead.

Actually, if I remember correctly they said during the broadcast that Griffin clearly grabbed and shoved Dirk and that the call was correct. Don't know what that idiot was watching.

On the one hand, you're right. This still isn't a very good team, and even if they somehow make the playoffs, they're very likely to win one or fewer playoff games.

On the other hand....just enjoy it, man. Because it's not a great team, you gotta find some fun in the smaller victories, like a great game against a tough Clippers team. I say, give yourself a day or so to enjoy it before you start worrying about the next few days/weeks.

Well I'd certainly rather watch winning versus purposely tanking. IMHO, nothing good comes from losing and playing bad. The Mavs are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. I'm not sure anyone thought we'd ever be hot this season. 10-4 in March. Keep it up!

I believe that person was referencing the Inside the NBA guys after the game.

But regardless of whoever thought Blake didn't commit an offensive foul, it probably means something when both refs near the play call it independently.

I get the sense this might be one of those cases where the amount of physical force on the brush-off didn't matter so much as the unfair advantage gained with the discard. Sometimes dragging a defender's arm out of the way is enough; you don't necessarily have to push the guy over.

Frankly, I think it's stupid when these analysts try to determine whether a guy who loses his balance and stumbles a bit was really pushed "that" hard.

Like, "oh, no way would anybody ever stumble back 3 feet when pushed that lightly." Cool. Hot analysis.

Watched some Sportscenter repeats this morning. It amused me what a big deal they made about how wide open we left Barnes. Um, don't you WANT Barnes taking the shot in that situation? Hee.

And for the record, I love me some Matt Barnes.

Dirk's PER now firmly in top 10 among PFs.

If the Mavs make the playoffs, he should get all-NBA consideration for his post ASG awesomeness.
