Blalock Demoted....
The Rangers optioned Hank Blalock to AAA today to make room on the roster for Chan Ho Park. They will go with Mike Lamb at 3B. The reason I like this move is because Blalock should have spent the first half of the year in AAA anyway developing his stroke against major-league quality pitching. The reason I don't like this move is because Blalock may be mentally damaged by the demotion. I predicted Blalock to be ROY, but obviously that can't happen now. But this move make me wince. |

Ouch - I expected a lot more from Blalock. I would have preferred to have him stay another year in Triple A but he looked ready.

I think everyone, myself included was wrong about him. He just isn't ready yet. He needs to keep his head up. He will be fine in a couple years.
