Budweiser a winner so far. The "magic fridge" was pretty funny & the bear one was good too. Second year in a row I liked Ameriquest, the fly in the hospital "that killed him." And I also liked "I'm going to Disney World."

Feels like fewer commercials this year.

Commercials can be watched here:
http://www.ifilm.com/superbowl?htv=12

BTW... commercials I have hated so far: Pizza Hut & Jessica Simpson (stupid AND I think I'm beginning to hate everything she does), GoDaddy.com, & Burger King Whopperettes (Are we being serious here? I think that was a 30-sec one too... what a complete waste of like $2mil. And I thought that Burger King's commercials have been pretty good this year too. Sad.)

weak commercials overall. Ameriquest does great again, though. I was trying to remember their ones from last year, but was coming up blank. i remember that they were funny. ah, remembered one. the one with the guy in the convenience store, talking on the hands-free cell phone. "You're being robbed".

the godaddy commercials make ZERO sense. who cares if it has a hot girl?

diet pepsi, horrible commercials.

budweiser has to spend 95% of its advertising budget during the superbowl. they had some good ones. I like the sheep streaker, the revolving wall, the bear, the "wave" with the cards at the stadium.

I liked the jackasses, dressed nicely in their slacks...

really liked the "addicted to lost" commerical, because, hey, I am.

edited to add: forgot about the sprint one. phone with "Crime deterrent". that one made me laugh.

Okay, my top 5:
1.) Bud Light Revolving Wall. "All hail the magic fridge!" Hee!
2.) Bud Light Bear. "Dave, not cool!" =D The guys on the roof one was pretty funny too. Bud Light solid this year.
3.) Ameriquest Fly in the Hospital. "That killed him." Second year in a row Ameriquest had pretty good ones, although not as genius as the cell phone robber & the cat killer from last year.
4.) "I'm going to Disney World." I love commercials that show players in that light.
5.) United Dragon. I really like this "Where you go in life is up to you" campaign. Very poignant. I liked the job interview one too, I can really identify with it.

And the ones I hated:
1.) Pizza Hut Poppers w/Jessica Simpson. Shameless & stupid. I hate everything she does now.
2.) Burger King "Whopperettes." Stupid. Waste of our time & your ad dollars. Everybody loses.
3.) Gillette Fusion w/the random colored "energy" (or whatever) colliding & creating "the perfect shave." Just... wtf? First of all, do we really need 5 blades now? Really? Second, um, pointless. It didn't even look well made. No slick CGI or anything. Just generic-looking animation that had really NOTHING to do w/the product being advertised. To be real, there were several ads like this this year & in the last couple of years. A below average ad & rather astounding display of the general lack of creativity in advertising today. It's just more annoying to see it during the one time of the year where I specifically take time out to watch commercials b/c they're SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. GAH!

So, agreed, overally poor showing this year. :/ Is too bad.

I was entirely unimpressed with the commercials this year. I thought it was a very, very sad effort. I can only hope the reason was that smart business-people decided that their money was best spent elsewhere.

First, I'll say that all the commercials suffered from the gratuitous ABC-show promos. Folks who watch commercials for the creative ones were surely put off.

Budweiser was the king of the commercials this year, as they always are. But I couldn't help but feel that they under-did themselves. Only the "magic fridge" and the "baby Clydesdale" commercials were memorable. The streaker commericial was a terrible reach. If no one gets your commerical until the commercial is long over, you have a problem. But more than that, who that watches the Super Bowl doesn't already have a strong appreciation for Budweiser? Wasted money.

The only money I felt wasn't wasted was the godaddy.com money. At least that name is branded upon our collective consciousness. But the commercials themselves were extraordinarily unimaginative (if not titillating). Do these spots really cost close to a million dollars each? If so, you'd think that someone is on the line for something more creative.

I bet these commercials didn't gather so much revenue this year. There was something about them that was just...subpar.

Ameri-quest did a pretty good job with entertaining commercials, but they did a terrible job of relating their commercials to what their company actually does. Okay, the guy with the electrical things supposedly killed the guy. That was hilarious. Now I am supposed to buy a house or something? Not good, not good.

Pepsi obviously dramatically lowered their advertising budget from years gone by. In a big, big way. (Can't say that I blamed them.)

Coke is really pushing the Full Throttle energy drink. (Who drinks those?)

I thought Blockbuster did a fine job of using its advertising dollars. They didn't overblow it, but they got their message across nicely. I, for one, will be taking them up on their offer.

The Careerbuilder commercials were funny, but I just don't know how useful they were. That's a hell of a tough market they are trying to penetrate, and I don't know how much they helped themselves. (Can you think of similar companies who advertised at previous super Bowls and are now defunct?)

And lastly, I don't get the hate on the Burger King commercial. I thought it was the best of the bunch, and I expect it will probably also carry the most punch of the bunch. It easily gets my award for Best Spot of the Show.

Speaking as a NFLX stock holder, I'm imploring you to reconsider.

Ditto for anybody else. Playing with my money is like playing with my emotions.

chum: The commercials are 2 1/2 million dollars for 30 second spot. And Full Throttle? High school/College set are the ones that drink those. Energy drinks are the new Gatorade of the 80's.

And I'm with you on the Ameriquest commercials. My daughter asked me what Ameriquest does.... and if I weren't a Rangers fan I don't think I would have been able to answer her question.

My favorites of the day were the streaker one and the girl that gets tackled in the football game. Well, the football game stuck on my mind only because of the shock followed by laughter it caused.

But overall the commercials rated the same as the game. They were a match made in heaven. That was a terribly boring game. Rothlisberger had a 22 rating as the winning QB. The referees were just horrible. That Seattle touchdown that wasn't in the 1st quarter was just unforgivable. Yeah, he reached and pushed off but if that's not a touchdown then neither are 40-45 percent of the touchdowns that are scored in any football game.

good ones I remember:
Burger King Whopperettes: dancing tomato girls. That's great.
Streaking sheep: good to lighten up that clydesdale idiocy
Cell phone theft deterrent: that was good cause I hate cell phones and maybe he broke his
Cave Man UPS: stupid till the guy kicked the little dino, then got crushed. Can't beat cartoon violence
A Rudy's commercial where the sauce bottles played enacted a couple Rose bowl plays. In a room full of UT fans the cheers were louder than for the Superbowl plays.

terrible:
godaddy.com: ugh. I don't wanna know what that site is.
career builder: I'm sick of the monkeys already.
Clydesdales: yuck. sappy horses proud to haul around that terrible beer?
pepsi: Jay Mohr and Diddy are perhaps two of my least favorite entertainers

not many good one this year...Liked the hummer one where the monsters "hook up"

I wanted a remake of the one last year where guy is trying to create a romantic evening for his lady and all he ends up doing is wreaking her appartment and (looks like) killing her cat.

The michelob amber one was greatness. The ameriquest ones were both really good but what does not jumping to conclusions have to do with selling houses or whatever they do? The Fed ex one was awesome. IT started out ok but nothing special then went to really good with the kick of the little dino then it just went into a whole nother level with him getting crunched. Its been said earlier but violence really does work for commercials.

The only ones i liked were the Streaking one and the one with the bear.

Movie previews don't count, but i do want to see 16 Blocks (huge Mos Def fan) and MI:3 (can't stand Cruise, but it looks good).

I thought most of the commercials were forgettable. The one I laughed out loud at was the bear commercial where the guy attempts to save his life by giving the bear his beer and then his friend runs by and takes the beer.
