SMC, you are right about Cuban. He will keep Kidd too long. There is a high risk that Luka will not stay. Kyrie and Wood are gone for sure.

If Luka wants out they better get a haul before he starts talking or acting funny publicly and his value decreases.

Well Mark Cuban, a billionaire, is going to get bailed out by the government today. So why not?
I just want to watch Hardy and Green. Don't really care about anything else Mavs-wise right now.

I just want something -- anything -- that lights a fire under this franchise's ass. Here's to losing out.

If it came to trading Luka, value won't be an issue.

Injury Report:
Luka - out (strained thigh)
Kyrie - game time decision (sore right foot)
Kidd - day-to-day (executive brain functions impaired*)
*"Executive function is generally agreed to refer to key skills that include planning, organizing, task initiation and keeping focused. These are shored up by the behavioral skills of emotional control, self-monitoring/awareness, response inhibition and flexible thinking. In other words, a person with impaired executive function should never be coaching an NBA team".

Bigger issue than Wood though is why Josh Green seems to play better when Luka is out. Like, you just knew Green was going to play well this game. They need to figure that out in the worst of ways.

He's asked to be more of a stationery player when Luka and kyrie are both available
I think he should be used in lineups with just him and kyrie with kyrie playing off ball because green likes to drive and kickout
He also likes to get out and run which makes him a better fit with kyrie as opposed to with Luka
But ultimately this team is done if kidd doesn't committ to kleber, Wood, Green, Luka and kyrie as his closers
The best defense might be to just play a big lineup with length clogging up the paint
But unless Powell suffers sort of 1-2 week ain't shit changing with the rotation

Love that Kevin O'Conner is blatantly trashing his ass now.

All NBA teams would have wanted Luka this time last season. I bet there are fewer teams that would want him as of right now. He's the Rockets version of James Harden, but bitches way more while falling out of playing shape as the season progresses. This next season is going to be very telling of how Luka's NBA career takes shape as he'll have a lengthy offseason (compared to last season) which should hopefully include very little International play. And if he is indeed true to his word (not wanting to play for 20 seasons), he'll need to acknowledge that now is the time to maximize his trade.

Bro every other team in the league would be tripping over themselves to try and get Luka. The Mavs FO phones would be ringing off the hook.

LOL at anyone saying Luka's value is down, hasnt even entered his prime and leads the league in points averaged. The luka slants (most justified) have damaged brains.

Hardy is going to make losing Kyrie this summer mean very little. Kid is the real deal.

So much for the idea that Maxi will save the season...or that he is any better than Wood.

And my point is not hating on Maxi...my point is that Kidd hates Wood.
Picking coaches over 20/10 centers isn't a wise choice.
The real tragedy is we likely keep Powell this summer sold to us as a backup...only for him to start again.

My god Kidds post game comments have somehow managed to get worse. You have to fire this guy.
I wish we had Moseley, I really thought he?d be promoted until Rick opened his mouth.

I would take a cardboard cutout of Mosley over Kidd.

I wonder what did Kidd say to the team before this game? No Luka, Kyrie or Wood. Mcgee still can?t see the floor. Is he really that bad?

I mean, there is talk now that the Mavs are quietly punting the season. Sure looks like it to me.
Which I'm kinda fine with developing Green and Hardy.

Just peoples opinions around the interwebs....oh and the reality that we have no choice anyway...
Obviously, you'd never hear the FO say this. But the writing is, IMO, already on the wall.

I would tend to agree with you if they didn't trade for Kyrie. That would be an easy decision and the team with Luka sidelined would be destined for a top 10 pick and regroup next year. Not a chance in hell they are punting this season now.

So with Luka and Kyrie in a wide open west your going to tank the season?
Why even bother to make a trade for kyrie if that was the plan?

If they are punting they haven?t told Luka. He was crying on the sideline, over this loss. Unless he was crying, because they just told him. Or Kyrie just told him that he was leaving. Or Cuban just informed him that he was never selling the team.

A Mavs tanking a season with Luka, Kyrie and Wood onboard would be so nuts. It would be like breaking up the championship team. Oops

Funny thing is there are still guys on the roster who you've seen in the playoffs together over the course of 3-4 years now.
I just don't understand why they can't at least see how this team would function with some of the new names playing big minutes together
Why continue to go down with the likes of Powell and THJ
Is it really going to hurt your team if you switch up for once and go with Mcgee, Wood, Green, Luka and Kyrie
I mean you came into the season with the visions of playing bigger lineups and yet you basically gave up on the plan in less than 2 weeks
We have no idea in hell what type of lineup can do because it's never even been used which is just ridiculous at this point
But I'm wiling to bet that lineup wouldn't rank last in the NBA in rebounding that's for damn sure

Oh and if you want proof of punting the season, then all you have to do is listen to our so-called coach...

With Kidd's history? No.
There really is no good explanation to why Igor left. I mean, he left to a staff where the coach was fired 7 games into the season. So, either Cuban was too cheap to keep him, or Kidd ran him out. Maybe it was both, but Kidd hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt.

That Knicks pick is going to be top 15
That Nets pick may be better.
We may finally get rid of Cuban at least

This defense is terrible. The scheme and rotations are god awful. They get lost on switches constantly. Leaving guys open all over the floor. I said this very early in the season, IF we even make the play offs, we are going to get drop kicked. The season is over and all we can do is watch it crash and burn.

Apparently this a Slovenian media guy...take it for what you will, but it sure falls in line with Kidd's history..
Alju? Pertinač
@Pertinacal
Replying to
@GattsuSLO
and
@iztok_franko
Sources from the Slovenian national basketball association say he was driven out by JKidd because he was afraid Luka would make Igor head coach.

Tank. We need that pick. Someone like Jarace Walker could make a huge difference on this team.
