I think that we can put the comparisons aside for now anyway. Talent wise there might be room for argument, but not mentally. I don't think that MJ ever let the Bulls down like Kobe did in game 1(even with the flue). There is no doubt in my mind that in 4 or 5 years Kobe will be giving Jordan a run for his money at the greatest player of all time, but for now I think we can lay this argument to rest.

Until Shaq leaves town or Kobe is traded to another team (without Shaq of course), I don't think you can compare the two. Jordan WAS the Bulls. Kobe's obviously an incredibly talented player and you're right about his mentality, but until he proves he can lead and carry a team on his own, he's nowhere near Jordan.

No one is basketball is near Jordans level. Will anyone ever be? That is the question. I just feel if there is another Jordan alive right now- it COULD be Kobe. Of course he is not there yet, and may never get there. But I have seen glimses of brilliance that I have not seen in any other player alive right now....

Kobe is more like a new Alex English... Same finesse game... Same mid-range pull-up jumper... Jordan was stronger, more athletic, and much more unstoppable than Kobe can ever dream of being... Alex English might have looked like one of the best ever if he had played alongside someone like the diesel...

Jordan was stronger? I dont feel you can say that YET. He sure wasnt stronger at 23 years old?! Kobe will gain strength ever year as did Jordan. And Jordan didnt have that deadly turn-around jumper when he was younger either- he developed it through years of practice. Kobe too will develope his game year after year. The jury is still out....

Problaby wont be as good as Jordan- but, will anyone? that is the question here...
