That was some pathetic blocking by the Cowboys. 2 guys broke through and could have blocked that kick.

I have to admit the oline today was abused. They almost got Romo and the kicker killed.

Worst showing by an offensive line i've seen in a long time. Even further than when Quincy was here. That's a shame too because I consider us and the Bronco's to have the best o-lines in the league. But just a pitiful showing. I don't even recall too many blitz's either.

Yeah, it was just a steady stream of attack from the front 4. They just had their way and got to Romo.

Well that was pathetic. OLine was pathetic, Romo still won't take care of the ball, special teams cost us 16 points...ugg.
BTW, while I was having fun mocking Wisenhunt for almost losing his team the game calling the time out, if you go back and watch that play, Folk heard the whistle and kicked the ground.

Norm just reported that McBriar was carted off the field.

Holy crap, these days I'm thinking he just might be our most consistent player and now he might be gone for the season?

You know that makes the most sense because I don't think Folk is capable of missing a clutch kick.

Well they might not have gotten the kicker killed but it sounds like they got his leg taken out.
That line between the terrible blocking and penalties should be absolutely embarrassed about the way they played..

You hardly ever see him miss, so to see that clunker on the first attempt as they called timeout, that's probably what happened. He knew what was going on, or what was going to happen.

He literally kicked the dirt in front of the ball. He either heard the whistle or had his worst FG attempt since he was 7.

Yea it was great blocking, great moves by Barber but horrible tackling as well lol. I never thought Barber would break one anytime soon but to break one going that slow lol. Bad defense lol.

I just went back and watched the punt. McBriar immediately grabbed his right ankle. He kicked that guy hard and at a weird angle. If he was carted off the field he has a broken ankle is gone for the season.

Commentor on BloggingtheBoys says McBriar has a "foot contusion", xrays negative. So maybe it's not that bad. I find it hard to believe he was literally carted off the field for a foot contusion.

I wonder how does the special teams prepare for each game. For the past couple of years or maybe since Avezanno they haven't been worth a damn.

Yeah that would be hard to believe. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen a guy carted off the field for a leg injury that wasn't done for the season.

I know that Felix didn't play the whole game, but it just doesn't make any sense to me that he's used so little. I don't understand how a team that insisted on contiunuing to give a spare like Julius Jones 10-15 carries a game won't do the same with Felix. It boggles the mind.

Cowboys are lucky enough to sniff a win in this game. The Cardinals gave them the big play for Barber. He is not that fast; that's just sloppy tackling and poor angling. They also had an offsides from an injured player that gave Folk's kick the 3 yards it needed to tie the game.
I don't know what was worse, the Redskins or Cowboys loss. The Redskins shot themselves in the foot with 3 turnovers in scoring positions, shatty special teams kicking, and a defense that couldn't close the game. The Cowboys front line were beaten up (literally with injuries), shatty special team coverage, and poor execution. I'm gonna say the Redskins loss was worse because it was against the Rams, but at least they weren't outplayed.

I may be wrong, but didn't he get hurt? I thought they said something about him trying to work out some problem with his hamstring in the third quarter, and I figured that was why he wasn't returning kicks either. Maybe I missed something on the post game show where they said otherwise, but I think it may be injury-related.
*Edit - I just re-read your post and I think you may have been hinting that the injury as well so if so disregard the post. I agree that they still should have found more of a way to use him, but I give them a little bit of a pass due to the injury anyways. If Wade values his job though he'll find a way to get Felix more involved.

I heard on the post game show that he strained or pulled his hamstring. He didn't play at all in the second half did he?

Yes, I was aware he got hurt in the third quarter. Still, his usage confused me. Why not give him an entire series? Why not use him more in the passing game? Before the season they talked like he was going to be Reggie Bush-lite.

I think this is just a case where too many weapons can cause a problem. It's a problem for Romo and Garrett. Coaches and players just admit to losing track of players, forgetting them. I guess the rookie falls in that category.

I don't know I think he would've got a significant amount of touches had he not gotten hurt. He was hurt in the 3rd.

How were the Cowboys lucky? They're never out of games. Even the Deadskins game yea we were outplayed but we were in it until we didn't get the onside kick which was in Hurd's hands. And are you insinuating the Cowboys were outplayed? I'm not sure about that. Cowboys had more passing yards than them even without the Barber catch. Had more rushing yards, our defense only allowed 2 td's to a team that just put up 41 against the Bills, only allowed 225 passing yards......Key to this loss was special teams. The offense and defense both played good enough to win. I know you're a Deadskins fan but seriously? Skin's had no reason to losing to a Rams team that had no wins to date. Of course that loss was worse lol.

That's what I think it is. Which is why I sort of cringe when I hear about people wanting to bring in Roy Williams and any other 1st option on another team. After today's game I can't really debate it because we need to do something about TO getting stopped by opposing secondary's but I feel we have enough options as it is. Especially with Felix. I just don't think Garrett has been using them correctly. At this point, I just want to go back to last seasons playbook. Just give Felix what Julius got and bring back the old TO. We never have TO in motion. We just sit him there to play decoy. I'd like to see more of Miles Austin as well. I like how we're sticking with the run regardless of 2 or 3 yards a carry but I can't understand how this team can think the way their playing TO is the right way.

Any particular reason that you think that?
And the Cowboys were pretty dang lucky to recover three of their own fumbles, and have another one nullified by a terrible call.

Two of his 3 carries came in the 2nd half and one of them got called back which i'm not sure if that was in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. They were starting to give him touches before he got hurt. I think they were just simply running Barber and then out of nowhere hit them with Felix to surprise. I also saw him line up as a reciever a couple of times. Didn't get much of a chance to do it since he got hurt. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.
They were lucky to get those fumbles but I don't remember any of those coming back to help the Cowboys. They actually hurt and put us out of field goal position one time.

The recovery of Barber's fumble eventually led to a touchdown.
Also, Romo's fumble that was whistled dead would have given Arizon great field position, and woudl have almost certainly resulted in at least a field goal.

You're right about the Romo one. It wasn't ruled a fumble but it was a miscall. Horrible call. I guess you could say the Barber was luck as well we're great at recovering fumbles. At some point I think you have to credit the awareness of players than just credit it as luck. It could be at times just players being at the right spot at the right time but this team the past 2 years have always recovered their own fumbles. Should've recovered that one fumble if Gurode didn't just sit there like there wasn't a fumble.

Dallas doesn't have to worry about next week. St. Louis didn't win; Washington lost the game with 3 untimely fumbles. Plus, they got lucky with a hail mary pass. Cowboys will dominate unless they shoot themselves like the Redskins did.

Like a wise man once said, "You can't control what the ball do, it's crazy man."
Recovering fumbles is luck, and you can't count on the bounce of the ball to bail you out every game.
