I figure we are at a good stopping place for the 08 thread. We'll be able to look back and find those situations/questions about keeping 1, 2 or 3 guys easy since it's at the end.

The next issues to resolve are the keeper selection date and draft order being based on W-L record from 2008 or Points Scored in 2008.

those are the potential dates for lockdown on keepers.

The 26th is probably the latest I'd really want to go. Sept 2nd just seems a little too close for comfort. That's just the date for picking the keepers...not the draft.

It's definitely better to establish dates soon because that's a lot of advanced notice to plan ahead.

I want to make sure the draft is on a Saturday, that I know for sure.

So set the keeper date accordingly.

In fact, we may want to plan it backwards.

Alright

The NFL Season starts on Thursday, September 10th. The only Saturday before that would be on September 5th.

So the draft has to be on September 5th, August 29th, or August 22nd.

The last preseason game is Friday, September 4th.

If you guys want a really late draft date, then September 5th would have to do. I would like the keeper date to be at a minimum two weeks before that, so at the latest on August 22nd.

I am strongly in favor of August 22 for the draft date, unless we are doing an evening draft. My Saturday mornings get taken up starting the end of August.

I would still prefer to have the keeper selections in the 2nd or 3rd week of August.

For me, it sounds like August 19th for the keepers and August 29 for the draft...or push everything back a week, 12th and 22nd, just somewhere in that range sounds about right for me.

I'm putting up the finishing touches on the league and I'll send invites out this weekend.

my schedule is done in a month in advance, so I've still got time to figure things out. I don't care if it's in the afternoon or the evening...I'm gonna be pumped for it either way.

Sept 2nd is way, way too late.

The keepers need to be locked in a week or two before the draft so that we can prepare for the draft knowing what the pool is.

I'm with Flaco, establish the date for the draft, THEN set the keeper lock in date a week or two before that.

Better be smart with your keepers.

*edit* looking at your team, you have a WR projected to go in the first round, another WR projected to go in the second round, and a running back projected to go in the second round... if only we all had that luxury

Those projections certainly aren't my projections - following "professional projections" is a good way to field a middling team fantasy football [let the smack talk begin!]

That said, I've finally checked out everyone else's rosters and you're right - my keepers don't look so bad... At least I don't have your squad! [let the smack talk continue...]

But seriously, I have no problem with August 5th & 22nd being our keeper deadline & draft dates - whatever is easiest for everyone...

Everyone that has any knowledge about the NFL knows that you have a better roster than me. I don't take offense to that. Just don't finish behind me when its all said and done, because that would be embarrassing.

Those are set in stone by ESPN, so you'd have to pick either the 5th or the 12th.

August 22 will work though as a draft date...because the draft can be on any day, it's just a matter of locking up the time.

I'm pretty confused. So we will keep our keepers from last season? Are you handling that BG? Or we have to do something?
