He's a guy who is fantastic with the ball in his hands creating for himself or others and often he's on the floor with Yogi or JJ or Devin(or sadly a combination of 2 of them) who are "taking the pressure off him" as Rick has said. So maybe next year he will get the full reigns and we will get to see real breakout games. I honestly think if he wasn't sharing the load he'd be putting up 18-20ppg 5-6dimes 5-6rebs even if on bad perecentages with high turnovers, it's just what rookies go through adjusting. And we'd see the occasional explosion game. We haven't really seen the explosion game and I'm not sure we will with all these vet guards.
I think Rick is more concerned with the longterm goal of turning Dennis into an eventual All-Star/franchise player than letting him blow up his stats in a bid for RoTY... It sounds like the two of them watch a ton of tape together, so DSJ is still learning even when he's not on the floor -- vets like Barea and Devin are often good examples of the "right" way to do things.

Plus, there's always a possibility that some of our vets get shipped out before the trade deadline, so we still might get a chance to see the reins loosen a bit this season.
