The reverence Americans have for their soldiers is very foreign to us Germans. With good reason of course. But still, I can't think of a thing that's less likely than honouring your military at a sports event.

Jazz outplayed the Mavs? Scheduled loss? Back2back, searching for excuses? Bad announcers!

Respect to DWill. Being a hometown boy, he must have such a chip against Dallas now..

Dirk needs more praise on how well his game is.
Kobe can score 31 on 8-25 shooting and the media will polish his balls and serve him a milkshake for such an epic performance.

Great win. Props to the Dirkster, Butler, and Jet for coming up clutch. Props to the Jazz too, especially D-will, he played a hell of a game.

But its postgame and I say its a bad win! Still no team will sweat coming into the AAC when Dallas blows a 25pt lead. They could have made a statement out of this and failed.
Well ... at least Dallas was on the tail of a brutal B2B. No wait ... that was the other team.

No need to encourage someone to get above himself... That said, I appreciate the occasional GDT post that's not full of moaning and complaining as soon as things get a little tough.

Do you actually think the Mavs losing a big lead and still winning has any effect whatsoever on the confidence of future opponents at the AAC?
Here's a hint: none of them care. Most of them won't even know the Mavs blew a lead.
"Statement wins" are for college football. That sh*t is weak.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Dirk is shooting 70% over his last 5 games and still averaging over 25 points per game. I'm fairly confident I've never seen anyone do that before.

Well ... then lets reduce it to this: This winning streak so far is not, in any way, different to the one they had last year. You know the result. Maybe we'll get a better shot after the Florida B2Bs. For today its still a win over a quality opponent but nothing to be exciting about. Mavs are supposed to win these games at home.

Utah at home is NOT a guaranteed win, give me a break.
and the difference between this season and last season is defense. It's sort of a big difference.

Ok, then how bout this: you can not be excited about it. I and 98% of the board will choose to be excited about it, because we realize that any win over a good team is worth being excited about.
Sound fair? Good, great, grand.

Um, a win over a quality opponent is always something to be excited about. Those don't grow on trees.

LOL what is the point of being a fan of a team if you don't get excited when they win a close game over an elite opponent?
Not everyone can be so bitter.

The way they are winning is different. We beat some good teams in the 13 game streak, but we've played tougher teams, several on back-to-backs, on this streak. In the end, does this streak determine what we do in the postseason? You're right, it doesn't effect that at all. So why don't we turn around and lose 13 straight, because, ya know, it doesn't effect the postseason, right? No, we win games now, and you should get excited, because this team right now looks very, very good and very, very deadly.

Very good? Maybe. Deadly? No ... not at all.
