OKC will win the series. But i'd rather face Memphis if we were to advance.

Randolph just showed some poor leadership...leading to Doris Burke to extol Dirk's.

Why Memphis?.. They took the season series w/us 3-1. I think we took the season series w/Thunder 2-1.

Can't decide who I should be rooting for in this series, Mavs-wise. All things equal, I'd root for my boy KD, but if there's an argument why the Grizz would be the better WCF matchup for the Mavs, I'd be all ears.

I've been thinking the same thing all game without that much of an idea which team I'd rather play in the WCF. More than anything I want it to be a long series to give us as much rest as possible (assuming that we'll somehow make it to the WCF).
That said, the game itself is pretty damn entertaining.

I am concerned about facing Z-Bo. Still shocking to me.

We know we were 1-3 against Memphis and 2-1 against OKC (with the loss w/o Dirk), so that's something.

I can't decide. On one hand, we have one of the handful of players put on this earth to guard Kevin Durant. On the other hand, Westbrook is a REALLY tough match up for Kidd, and I feel like Ibaka might be close to the ideal player to try to make life tougher for Dirk.
With Memphis, it's a fear of ZBo, and a fear of Dirk having to once again exert a lot of energy on defense.
OKC also has a much better home court advantage.
Ultimately I think I'll take Memphis. They weren't this good over the course of the season, their defense is focused on stopping swing players, which is not a big part of our offense, and OKC has the best player between the two teams.

I can't believe how long it took the announcers and producers on ABC to notice Rondo's arm on that play. I was yelling at the tv that his arm was broken while they were saying "he's shaken up on the play".
There's the season for the Celtics. I can't tell if that was a dirty play from Wade or not. It looked suspicious.

Talk about a nasty injury...Rondo's probably out for the rest of the series.
edit:
Kinda reminded me of that freak injury Andrew Bogut suffered just before last years playoffs.

KG stepping up big.
They obviously would miss Rondo defensively, his versatility. But no one even guards him in the halfcourt anymore and Miami is tough to run on.

Rondo is playing on and he looks goofy as hell with his one arm hanging all limp. What a tough dude, though.
I find myself physically rooting for the Celtics. Mild fist pumps and everything. Not near Mavs level, but it's discernible. I despise the Heat so, so much.

Pretty much sums up my thinking. Gotta give Rondo credit for gutting through it one-armed and all.
And gosh do I hate the Heat. With every fiber of my being.

It looked pretty clear to me that he deliberately hooked Rondo as he was falling to take him to the ground with him. I don't think Wade was expecting to dislocate Rondo's arm in the process though.
Either way, it gets all the hatred in my heart toward Wade and the Heat churning again. Plus, it looked like he took another cheap shot or two in the next few possessions. Man do I hate that guy.

It looked to me like he hooked with both his legs and arm. If this were baseball Wade would've gotten a fastball between the numbers next time down. Shame they cant do that in hoops. Not since the 90's at least.

much rather play memphis
of the 3 losses:
1 was second game of season obviously teams trying to figure out lots of things at that point like rotations
1 was dirks return where he was no where near 100% and was ejected also Tyson didn't play
again Tyson doesn't play, choke job in third.

Russell Westbrick has the potential to become a longterm problem for the Thunder...
Either he become a great PG and player or the next Marbury or Francis...

I wouldn't go that far, Marbury and Francis where never as talented as Westbrook is

They've both had cupcake paths. One of them will see what real playoff basketball is like in a week or so.

Totally disagree, winner of the second round will have earned it, as both are very good teams, agree both had fairly favorable first round matchups tho.

Sure, the one to rise from that bracket will have worked hard to earn it, but there's still another level of play they've had yet to contend with.

Even though they thrashed us in the regular season, now that I think about it some more, I think I'd rather see Memphis than OKC. Russell Westbrook is exactly the kind of player that we don't want to go up against.

Yea its boiling now. Westbrook to me just doesn't understand the NBA yet. With Marbury and Franchise.....well look at their nicknames lol. They were "ME"d guys coming into the league. I don't think Westbrook is a "me" guy he just doesn't understand how to play point guard yet.
Props to Rondo though. He made a fan out of me. What a dirty play by Wade. And Wade knows he's hurting and acts as if he doesn't even see it. Unbelievable.
Just imagine if that was Wade. We probably would've had to pull him off the court with a stretcher, give him a neck brace and transport him to the nearest hospital via helicopter.

Give me the Thunder. I don't like the prospect of facing up against Z-Bo at all as I don't think we really have anyone who can defend him well. Plus the Memphis guards are pretty stout defensively and the key to our run has been the increased production of JET and Kidd in the postseason. If they come crashing down to earth again we may in trouble.
As for the Thunder, you've already noted that Marion is about as good of a Durant defender as you can get. While Westbrook seems like a potentially scary matchup for us, all I can do is look at the numbers he's posted against us in the last two seasons, and they haven't been good at all. Plus if Westbrook wants to play hero against us, I'm willing to let him do so because he's just about the most inefficient member of their offense right now.
You are right that Ibaka seems to be about as ideal of a Dirk defender as one can think of, but it's not like Dirk has had much trouble against the Thunder in the ~50 minutes he played against the Thunder this season (he absolutely torched them). Even though that's a pretty limited sample to draw from, I'm also of the opinion that Dirk is unguardable one-on-one right now so I'll take my chances against Ibaka even if he is long and super athletic. I think the most underrated aspect of the Thunder matchup is that it will free up Chandler to be a beast again whereas facing up against Randolph is going to be another bad defensive matchup that could result in more foul trouble for our big guy.
I'll take the Thunder, who I think get overrated because everyone loves Durant so much. And whether or not they are truly overrated, we seem to do pretty well against them anyways. It seems strange to fear a 8th seed in the Western Conference Finals, but I'm not a huge fan of the Memphis matchup. And it's not like our franchise has had the best history with 8th seeds...

Chris Bosh's post-game press conference: gets asked 1 question and sits in silence for like 20 seconds before walking off.
