Here's the thing... You don't have to rely on the threes. You force the other team to make a decision. If they don't want to leave their man and double the penetration, then you'll have more opportunities at the rim. This is exactly what you want. You create a mismatch by drawing a double to get a wide open look somewhere else..

Exactly! A major reason the 3's were effective in the last series was the doubles on Dirk and the penetration of JJB. With out those they don't get the open looks and the entire game changes. Dallas needs effective penetration. We will soon see how effective Dallas's penetration is against a team other than the old and slow Lakers. Against the Thunder they need to attack the interior defense because they are not as strong their as LA was.
