#1 reason I'm in shock we're in the Finals...
Everyone knows the Mavs bench is the key to their success (besides Dirk).
The two biggest players on that bench are Terry and Peja and they were HUGE against the Blazers and Lakers, averaging 29 PPG together.
In 5 games against the Thunder they shot a combined 35 percent and 34 percent from three point range and averaged 20 PPG together.
Peja: 10-32, 5-18 from three point range,
Terry: 24-65, 9-23 from three point range
And we won in 5 games?
WTF?
Just goes to show you how great Dirk is and more importantly how great this team is....every night someone is picking up the slack.

Yeah, both guys really need to find their strokes. Terry was money in Game 1...but since he's really tapered off. Peja was off all series (sans Game 3) so he needs to watch some tape and readjust his game (get his stroke back, stop going off the dribble so much).

I think home court goes to the conference that won the All Star game.

I don't mind starting on the road. Win one and things look good. Consider 2006.

How people found this place yet don't know how or who gets Home Court during the finals is puzzling. All good tho, just saying... you guys are dumb.

And here I thought it went to the team with the guy with the whitest socks.... little do I know.
Anyways... JET, Peja and Stevenson have to pick up their offensive efficiency against the heat for sure.

Weird to think that either Dirk or Damp will have a ring in a little while...

It's definitely weird to think Damp will have a ring... (especially since it ain't happening!)

I'm mostly surprised because some of us were told the Mavs had no "reasonable" chance of even winning the first round.
I guess sometimes, unreasonable things happen.

I wonder where "sweeping the champs" falls on the reasonability scale?

Yeah, right, dude. Like that would ever happen. Let's stop with the pipe dreams and just discuss what offseason moves need to be made.

Anything is possible:
1. We swept the defending champs Lakers
2. In game 4 of the WCF we were down by 15 with less than 5 minutes in regulation
3. In game 5 we did the almost same thing but we were down by less points.
Now before this season all three were unreasonable pipe dreams

Yea the great thing is, this team has actually not unleashed their full potential on offense.
I sure hope they step up to a new level in the finals and unleash their full fire power. I want the cHeat to be crying already by halftime each game.

Interesting, amazing that we won in that few games with those numbers. Defense was the common denominator down the stretch in both games.

It's really gone unnoticed how poor Terry, Peja, and DeShawn shot that series.
Commentators keep harping on all these shooters helping Dirk...not this series. This series was really a Herculean effort by Dirk assisted by Kidd and Marion (post game 2). Those three CARRIED us this series.
Some huge keys for the Miami series:
1. Tyson and Wood assaulting the O glass. Tyson should have a HUGE advantage on Miami's interior. Anthony is a shock blocker and that's it. He's not a fantastic rebounder. Tyson should be getting a lot of second chances and finishes down low. Same with Wood.
2. Terry/Peja/DeShawn/Kidd are going to HAVE to hit threes at a much higher clip than against OKC.
3. Marion will really need to stay out of foul trouble, otherwise you're going to see way too much of Terry/Peja on one of Wade/LBJ.

Damp actually seemed to hit open 8 footers when he had all day to take them. Secret Weapon!
