I'm going to the game Saturday. Still deciding where to stay.
My experiences are limited to the airport, in & out for meetings & a short time in Plano over 10 yrs ago. So, I'm not familiar w/Dallas hotels and the area near ACC. Or, more important, where to party after the game.

Gators in the West End...before and after the game...Also has a shuttle to the game.
Great atmosphere, but can fill up quick on weekends. You will love it if you like piano bars. Has great drink specials.

If you want to stay close to downtown there are a lot of options.
if you are looking to splurge:
Adams Mark
The Magnolia
Adolphus
All great places but I imagine you are looking at about $200 a night.
For the more budget conscious:
Bradford Suites
Pretty decent place. Clean, safe, within walking distance to the arena. Right around the corner from West End. Probably about $80 a night.
Your party options are:
West End: Tourist thing with bars/restuarants, can walk from the arena
Deep Ellum: Live music, $10 cab ride
Greenville: people watching, $15 cab ride
Addison: big chain restaurants and bars, $20 cab ride

Actually, I was looking at The Magnolia and it's only a little over $100. Not too bad since I'm bringing a friend to split the cost. It looks nice from what I can tell on line. I mapped it and came up with about a mile from ACC.
Also, I think I have pretty good seats, Section 111, row DD. It's my first time to ACC so I'll try these seats and look around for next time's options.

The Magnolia is a cool place, I used to live across the street from it. It was for many years the tallest building in Dallas. It has a huge Pegasis on the roof (Former home of Exxon) which has become sort of symbol of Dallas.
Have fun.

Wyndham Anatole is nice.
My friend thought they were staying there last weekend, so we went to check in (valet took the car, and bellhops had their luggage).
we were so impressed with how incredibly gorgeous it is. i've stayed in some nice places, and this one was quite spectacular...
turns out, were were at the wrong Wyndham. we had to get all their stuff together and go looking elsewhere....
Wynham Marrott (or somesuch)
at the new place, we had to get our own luggage, park the car ourselves... and then everything was so small and dim in comparission. the luggage car barely fit in the elevator!! we laughed so hard, and for so long about our little mis-adventure.
in 15 minutes at the Anatole i became completely spoiled!! you'd have thought i was born with a bellhop and valet at my disposal! i'll never be the same.

The Wyndham Anatole is where opposing teams stay, by the way-- the Anatole is contractually bound to the AAC. I was leaving a meeting there last year and ran into Karl Malone in the lobby. I wanted to stomp him, of course, to see if he'd flop, but couldn't do so in front of business colleagues.
The Magnolia is nice and a bit more stylish than the Anatole. $100's a steal.
Have fun!

The rate for Magnolia expired so I am staying at the Fairmont. It's less than a mile from AAC.
Now, just deciding where to party after the game.

The Fairmont is great as well... as far as partying after the game, there's always the Platinum Club at the AAC if you can scam somebody's platinum tickets to get in. That's a pretty fun scene, and you may encounter a drunken Mike Modano or the like at the bar!
Otherwise-- and this is simply my opinion, I'm sure others will disagree-- I'd stay away from the West End (horribly touristy, parking's a nightmare) and Deep Ellum (same). The McKinney Avenue Tavern in Uptown is a pretty decent sports bar, and the West Village (Nikita) is nearby... or something on Greenville.
Just my two cents. Have a great time!

Thanks!
I'm still trying to come up with an idea for a sign.
Any suggestions?

Still not sure on the sign. I'll have to make up my mind tomorrow.
Anyone who frequents the AAC please PM me. I have a sensitive question.

There's also a Champps around Las Colinas if that's any easier for people to get to.

murph, NVE does not suck. so he doesn't shoot 45%, but he doesn't suck. geez. your chronic need for a whipping boy has overrun your ability to reason logically.

Murph, NVE did not suck in the Denver game. I saw him with my own eyes up close.

no, he doesn't suck..but it's still my favorite sign.. actually saw that sign at the game on thursday.. it was rather amusing
yeah, he is very highly overrated
and no, he didn't suck in the denver game..however, for every great game he has, he lays an egg 3 or 4 times
