He would have joined the Heat. Don't think sth. else. So it's good the Clippers picked him up.

But: Right now it seems unclear weather they actually could pick him up (some controversy over offer sheet for Jordan) or they wanted him to trade for CP3 again (which isn't possible).

So it's not set in stone in my eyes.

Interesting that players picked up through the amnesty waiver process can't be traded for the rest of the year. Also, teams had to bid a minimum of $1.3 million for Chauncey.

I can't believe so many in the media assumed he would clear waivers and go to Heat. Why wouldn't you bid at least $1.3 million? So what if he retires? There's just very little down-side to a team like the Clippers.
