Ive come around to this way of thinking. I wouldn't agree with it as the best choice basketball-wise, but if it makes him happy more power to him

I read that post as
"I called Deron and told him to come down here to Dallas. I chipped in my two cents and supported him in his decision but I also tried to make a pitch for coming back home and hanging out with my in Dallas"
of course, if Deron does come to Dallas and Howard knows it, it takes on a different meaning:
"Ya'll owe me one for bringing him here. Booyah!"

Just remember guys. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams both can't do this...

At the end of the day, we still have Dirk.

For me, it's 90% the "neutral" option (your first one), 9% the super positive option (your second one), and 1% thiggy's negative option.
And this isn't because I'm some unrelenting optimist. I just don't see somebody throwing "!!!!" up there as a sign of exasperation in that context. Just me, though. Like I said, really really hard to parse.

the resignation in this thread is just sad.
Any piece of news is spun toward Brooklyn even when its potentially good news for the Mavs. Its as if this whole board was the NY media all of a sudden.

I'm actually not resigned. Like I said, that tweet is so vague and might not even be about Deron at all.
I think this delay is nothing but good news for the Mavs. Still wouldn't bet on it, but we're not longshots or anything.
If Deron does stay in NJ, I swear I'll punch the first person that says "Deron was never coming here". I'm telling you, it will drive me absolutely insane. I need Deron to come here just to prevent that.

it might not even be about Deron, but you are going to venture that if it is, its a sign that Deron isnt coming. Interesting.

This tweet is about Deron...

Since we're reading way too much into way too little anyway - the "Lol" makes it sound like he knows something that Broussard doesn't (like, maybe he's laughing at Broussard's assumption that it's Brooklyn...)

If he was leaning toward Dallas on June 30, that'd be incredibly interesting.
Although Howard could easily just be joking.

Could be... Maybe Deron is just letting Brooklyn make a bunch of stupid moves because he secretly hates that franchise and wants to see/help them fail?

FWIW, DLord is either doing a bit or is absolutely, positively convinced that Deron is coming to Dallas.
Not that he has any additional info, just the way he's reading things.

I normally really, really like him, but I've written off his tweets the past couple days as 100% bit/homerism. There's no way anybody could be that confident.

Sounds like a sign-and-trade for Ersan is the death knell for Howard-to-Brooklyn (talk)?

How many "death knells" to the Nets-Magic trade have we seen already? This thing is crazy.

That's why I included "(talk)" - this rumor was dead the moment they traded the #6 draft pick for Gerald Wallace...

I do read this as positive news though. Ersan is set to make 6-7 million per?
Could be they're splitting what would have gone to Deron between 2 players

I'd like to know why the Magic are even still discussing it with them. I guess to leverage other teams, but it seems like an absolute waste of time. Everybody knows the Nets' offer. It ain't changing.

Remember, they're not using cap space at this point. They don't have to split anything. They'd have to SnT someone for Ersan; Hump I assume.

Ersan is a 8M+ player to me.
Ersan, Batum and Dragic were my budding star free agent targets. I would be happy to build a whole team around them (assuming they stayed at or under the 10M/yr mark collectively).

The Nets are either the new Isiah Thomas Knicks or the New York Yankees.

If the Lakers get cold feet, I'm starting to get concerned that the Nets are going to slowly finagle a way into getting Dwight and meeting their hard cap (by the slimmest of margins).
I guess that's the pessimist in me, jthig style, since there are so many reasons why that deal can't happen.
