Should VC win 6th man of the year?
Do you think VC deserves 6th man of the year? He's having his best season since he was on the Nets (and his best shooting season ever), and has only started three games. Earlier in the season I'd have said Ray Allen deserves it, but he's been crapping the bed in recent weeks.
If the Mavs make the playoffs, I don't see how he doesn't at least get a lot of votes.

I really think the Mavs gotta make the playoffs for this to happen - if they do, I'd think he has to be a frontrunner, right?

RT @TyLawson3 Good game between Dallas and Portland. Good thing we didn't end up getting Dallas. Coach Karl lost his mind.

Vc won't get recognition even if mavs make the playoffs. Dallas rarely gets recognition.
I was thinking after the game man I wish there was a 35+ award cause he'd have that on lock.

No one on a 9th or 10th seed will ever win an award.

Maybe in other things but not the 6th man award. Dallas is the only team in the last ten years to have gotten the award more than once (Jamison 04, Terry 09).

I could see an outside chance of Vince winning on a sympathy vote. Think in terms of the people voting. They've been around him for more than a decade and they appreciate an old vet being a total pro on a not so good team, playing better than he has in 5 years. Just watching the props the ABC announcers are giving him on today's national game against the Fakers, you can hear the respect VC has earned.
Unless there is some knockout choice who is really burning it up, Vince has a chance. Passing all these Hall of Famers on the top scorers list is keeping his name on the sports pages doesn't hurt either.

I'm not very high on PER. I think Martin, Jarrett Jack, and Crawford are all more deserving than Carter. I would probably pick Gordon Hayward before him too. Some of those you can argue, but no way he's playing better than Martin, Jack, and Crawford.

Of course you're not high on PER, because it doesn't suit your argument. You did suggest in your previous post though that Martin has a higher PER, which is not true.

He won't win because of Dallas' record, but he should absolutely be in the conversation with Crawford, Jack and Martin. His production is comparable, and none of them have meant more to their team.

Everyone is sleeping on Carl Landry in this thread, he has been a beast for the Warriors, averaging 17 and 9.5 per 36 on 60 TS%

I was never high on PER, because it rewards chucking. And no, i did not suggest he had a higher PER, i was really only concentrating on the TS%. I really don't care about PER, it's not a great stat.

Not enough minutes imo. He's awesome though, but 11/6 not gonna get it done.

Any ideas about Carter's future? Is there a good chance that he's part of our team next season? Is there still some kind of option or is he a free agent?
