I'm guessing by the name that Cody Zeller is white, and thus entirely disagreeing with your assessment.

i think Cody is Tyler Zeller's younger brother - ?supposedly better than big bro, and his team Indiana is at the top of the polls.

He has by far the best post game of anyone in college, only really needs to work on rebounding.

Might want to take note of Marshawn Powell from Arkansas. Coming off of knee surgery just two games into last season. He will most definitely be all-SEC.

Not going to touch top 50 list yet, but added some categories. If I were to touch it Ryan Harrow would go way down if not off the list, Len and Goodwin would move into second tier.

You might wanna keep your eyes on Marcus Smart (freshmen 6-4 guard) from OKState - Moving up the charts fast.

1. Noel
2. Muhammed
3. Zeller
4. McLemore
5. Len
6. Marcus Smart
7. Cauley-Stein
8. Anthony Bennett
9. Glenn Robinson III
10. Ike Austin
11. Porter
12. Plumlee
13. Carter-Williams
14. Tony Mitchell
15. Poythress
16. C.J. McCollum
17. Goodwin
my take on this draft is that its 8 or 9 players deep. After that lots of projects and tweeners like Porter, Austin, Carter-Williams, Poythress, Mitchell.
If the Mavs miss the playoffs
and pick somewhere from 8-12 the guy I really like is Glenn Robinson, assuming he comes out.

Edited my top 10. Cauley is too raw on the offensive end imo to be a lottery pick, really disappointed in Adams and Karnowski progress

Oladipo looks great. Would love for the Mavs to grab him. Unfortunately I don't think he'll last to the 12th pick. A month or two ago maybe, but he's rising steadily. We'll be hearing the Westbrook comparisons leading up to the draft.

Who said we have the 12th pick?
We can get lucky in the lottery.

I watch all of the Indiana games and I'd be thrilled with Oladipo or Zeller. I don't think either will be available at 12 and I am not sure that Zeller will even be in the draft. Zeller is on track to graduate in 3 years so it would not surprise me if he returns to complete his degree which seems to be an importance to his family. Tough call for him.
Oladipo is only a junior but he is also on track to finish his degree in 3 years. I expect he leaves especially after his huge development in basketball skills over the last year and a half. He has always had explosive elite athleticism.
I'd certainly consider Noel around 12 if he is on the 4 board.
Fortunately or unfortunately the Mavs are so bad now they can draft any position. Smart and Porter are real high on my list. I follow a lot of Indiana basketball and the Big 10 and know about this Harris kid. Gary Harris is probably the next player who would interest me if he comes out. He is going to be a really good SG.
You can also try to work a deal to move up in the draft. If you use your cap space to eat a big contract maybe some team will pay you with a draft pick. Someone like the Wiz have to be tired of adding draft picks and if they could free up cap space and lure a good FA like Josh smith then maybe they would deal. Ariza and Okafor (who is playing well) will have 1 year left on their deals next summer. I suspect others may be willing to do that.
Would Detroit sacrifice their draft pick if you on Stuckey and Villaneuvue contracts. Those 2 have only 1 year left ont heir contracts next summer. Detroit would have a ton of cap space if that happened.

Dont see DET doing that. They just gave Chalotte a 1st to take Ben Gordon off their hands not too long ago.
Also i believe Okafor and Ariza are player options so one or both could opt out. Not likely but maybe they want to win?

This year's draft is weaker than normal at the top, but seems to have great depth outside the top-5. That's what matters to borderline guys.

I definitely do not have all the information givony gets from scouts and such but I disagree with this being a deep draft, especially in the late lottery.

Any chance of moving up in the draft, by way of trade or something and getting Marcus Smart from Ok St?

You mean be able to draft in the top 3? No, there is no way of making that happen. Smart has played his way into a top pick this year.

Otto Porter was a shrinking violet on the big stage last night. Still a good player, but that's not a good sign.

I'll admit I'm not big on college basketball knowledge. I simply do not enjoy the flow of the game as much as I do NBA. With that being said, I did get engaged into the tournament, not just for the bracket pools, but I do enjoy watching the best of teams fight for their season.
So, how has the tournament affected the draft stock of some of the players?
I certainly think Maclemore rose, and Smart stand pat, or very slightly moved down. Zeller had a tough go at it in their exit. Burke and Carter Williams have been playing well. I also think Olynyk could make a solid rotational player, similar to Tyler Hansbrough. I am starting to think there is a sharp decline after the top of this class, but think the Mavs can get a useful piece going forward out of it.

Burke's stock has definitely risen (even more than where he was). He showed that even when he's not having the best game (poor shooting against SD State, turnovers against VCU), he contributed in other ways and took over portions of the game when he needed to.
Even though he's just a freshman, Mitch McGary's stock has risen. Not enough that he goes pro, but i'd like to see the guy in a year or two. Great rebounding instincts, and is strong around the basket.
Siva looked great against duke, and really attacks the rim and runs that offense well.
Kevin Ware's stock has dropped...
ok, that was bad.

I've watched a lot of Curry and Plumlee over the years, here's my take:
Curry: obviously a good shooter, but honestly not too good at creating his own shot or getting to the rim. Maybe he can develop that, but he's not at the same stage his brother was when he came out. There's a place for him in the pros, but he's definitely a second rounder, even in a weak draft. Some team may risk a first on him, but i don't think he does enough other things well to warrant a first rounder.
Plumlee: He's an enigma. He can look like the best player on the floor (and in the country) for some stretches, then turn around and do the dumbest thing you've ever seen someone do playing basketball. But he absolutely has physical talent. He's got a nose for the ball on rebounds, and is quick enough (and gets off the ground fast and high enough) to get to balls other big men can't get. He's improved his free throw shooting tremendously (up to about 70%). I think he's a first round talent, but the history of Duke big men may work against him.

I should have mentioned that I don't think of them as options as high as we will be drafting in the first. But as far as building up the depth of this draft, I think they can be serviceable in NBA. Curry with much more upside than Plumlee, but definitely not as good as his brother, agreed.

Giannis is shooting through the mocks... They are mentioning elite physical tools, and he was born in 94. We need to nab him if he falls to us.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=km632hL-XCo
6'9, 7'3 wingspan, very good ball handler. Everybody's talking about him, i hope they don't pick him early, this is supposed to be a weak draft.

Looks like the kid is not a secret anymore, Ainge just flew to Greek to watch him, btw Giannis is playing PG at the moment. Ainge said he reminded him of a young Scottie Pippen. He really has elite physical tools. I wonder where he will end up on mocks.

Btw he doesn't have Greek passport or Nigerian (his parents are from there) and he didn't play at any international tournaments in the past, so he lacks exprierence comparing to other guys who are in the same age with him.
I wouldn't mind taking him at the 14, or trade for a lower pick and trade him but he 's not ready for the NBA right now. He signed for a spanish club and i hope to stay at least one year and then sign him.

Elite ball handling?
Top notch athleticism?
Crazy length?
Good size for his position?
Not a lot of experience against high-end defenses?
Raw talent that needs to be developed?
Only started playing in high school?
Are we talking about Roddy or Giannis?
