GDT: We Will Shave Tonight! DAL vs. LAL Game Day Thread
Dirk is rounding into form at the perfect time. Dirk wants to get a fresh cut before we face the Spurs in round 1.
TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT. GO MAVS.

Good thing with MWP out is that Marion can take on Kobe. Let's hope he shoots a lot!

Remember what we did at the Staples Center in the first game of the year? Deja vu tonight.

How sweet it would be to bump the overhyped Lakers right out of the playoffs starting with a national TV thumping tonight!

I don't care if there was one missed call against Atlanta not favouring the Lakers. In general the other clubs got hosed. I'm sure that Stern wants to have his cash cow in the playoffs. He won't let a club with a payroll $100 million miss the playoffs.

You just broke some serious mojo...
Edit: nvm, yahyes also started the Pacers game, or the last shot at clean faces, and we all know how that went. Carry on! Go Mavs!

Shaq's ceremony, Dwight healthy again, Mamba on PEDs, Gasoft Jamison and Nash always motivated against Dirk, Stern, refs, home court....
Does not look good. Let's hope we win wth a buzzer beater.

Nash doubtful. Look for Steve Blake to either stink it up, or have an all-star performance against us (I don't like the guy).
Helps to have Artest out, he usually gets into Dirk and helps Gasol, etc. get a breather. Marion has to step up big time and Wright has to continue playing like he has been. I'm guessing VC wants this bad, and perhaps Mayo will show up for once against the Lakers.

Also, Phil Jackson will be speaking at shaq's jersey retirement ceremony.
Its basically a homecoming for Lakers. A lot to overcome.

So how about they play some homage to Don Nelson and run n gun these Lakers. Especially when Dwight and Gasol are out there. We should already know what to expect from Mike Dantoni's scheme.
Keys to the game: try to get Dwight out early, spread the floor now that world peace is out, find the 2nd contributor to help Dirk, and make sure Kobe doesn't have easy looks.
Go Mavs!

Here's hoping Kobe decides to shoot the lakers into the L column in another attempt to show up the big diesel.
Dirk will dominate.

Let's put their front court into foul trouble early. That's the key. Mayo, Carter and Collison should be in attack mode.
I won't watch this game. Too nervous.

Mavs win 107 to the Lakers 94.
Kobe Bryant, totally frustrated by Shawn Marion's defense, begins to exhibit a myriad of symptoms reminiscent of various psychological disorders, including:
Self Mutilation
Gender Confusion
Sexual Attraction to Inanimate Objects

"In an unusual display of respect, the LA Lakers allow Steve Nash to suit up in a Mavs uniform for tonight's game. Nash responds by dishing it to Dirk 15 times and the Mavs roll the Lakers 159-101."

Does Kobe decide to play hero ball or does he distribute to Gasol and Howard? I'd be tempted to focus the defense on Pau and Dwight early in the game and in the first five minutes of the 3rd quarter. If they are discouraged early, I'd guess their energy levels fall dramatically.
Mavs should be able to score against the Fakers, as LA has given up an average of 108 pts the last five games. That includes games against Washington (103), GS (109), Timberwolves (117), Bucks (113), and the Kings (98).
I think this is set up for a nice Mavs win.

probably because he is still the better defender than Wright against the liles of Howard, sad as it is. May do harm to their offense though, that's to be feared.

Probably will mean Dirk is nonexistent now that Kaman is starting. Carlisle has to run first quarter action for Josh Howard... I mean Kaman.

freaky idea: what to use Kaman for defensive plays and ignore him on offense. he may well draw a defender but not get a shot
