Memphis destroying the Thunder right now...15 up in the 3rd
Thunder offense as usual clueless and brooks has no idea what to do.
Wouldnt be surprised if the Grizz end this series pretty fast. And maybe Brooks get finally fired

Watching OKC/Mem really makes you appreciate RC's ability to draw up plays.

So far, these playoffs have been nuts.

No joke.
Scotty Brooks may be the derpiest coach in the league.

He'll surely be fired if they go out in the first round...right?

All I have to say is James Harden have to step up. He is considered this top 10 player in the NBA. Game 1 and 2, he has yet to really have a overall good game. He passed up a shot to pass it to Jeremy Lin in a clutch situation. He is always looking to draw fouls that sometimes it comes to bite him in the ass, he is too talented for that. Houston's perimeter defense has to get better. They most likely will have to start Patrick Beverley over Jeremy Lin, and probably would have to start Asik with Dwight, LaMarcus is killing the Rockets over the entire court.

You can't be a top 10 player if you can't perform in the playoffs. It's as simple as that.

You also can't be a top-10 player if you are without question the laziest defender in the entire NBA.

I don't consider him a lazy defender... maybe not a plus defender but he generally uses his length well enough to bother most shooters.

Dude didn't even get back on 4-5 possessions Thursday. He's the definition of the glass cannon.

Maybe in that case but that has not been Durant's MO as a player from jump street. Maybe it happens in pockets here and there but I've never regarded him as lazy in any way.

Current odds to win the NBA title:
Quote:
Miami Heat 8/5
San Antonio Spurs 17/5
Los Angeles Clippers 5/1
Oklahoma City Thunder 8/1
Indiana Pacers 18/1
Brooklyn Nets 18/1
Portland Blazers 30/1
Memphis Grizzlies 40/1
Washington Wizards 50/1
Dallas Mavericks 60/1
Houston Rockets 65/1
Golden State Warriors 75/1
Atlanta Hawks 85/1
Toronto Raptors 100/1
Chicago Bulls 175/1
Charlotte Bobcats 1250/1
|
It's because the East is so weak, but having the Wizards so high doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. They'd have to beat likely the Pacers, then the Heat, then the West champion. I'd say that's less likely than Dallas winning it all, or Hou/GS coming back from their current deficits and winning at all.

Was that after they went up 3-1 on the Bulls? Because then I can totally understand the reasoning.

It was right around the end of the game so I don't know if they had updated those odds yet. Even at 3-1, though, I wouldn't bet on the Wizards to win the championship over any of the teams I listed. Far too young and inexperienced in the backcourt, and John Wall is no Steph Curry.

I could really easily see the Wizards taking care of the Pacers at this point... definitely not Miami or anyone currently alive in the West, but I can see why Vegas set those odds... wanting to get some sucker bets that pay off easy.

I still have this faint inkling that the Pacers will figure it out and make the ECF. The Heat will probably kill them.
Then again, the body of evidence since January says they're done.

Same regular season record, but Houston looks like the first higher seed to get bounced.
Portland 3-1
I'd also live to see the Mavs and have the Rockets bounced in the first in 5 games. Howard probably won't change his mind on us but it will make me feel better.

Whoa, up 4 with 11 seconds left and A chance to go up 6.
Aldridge misses both FTs and Wright fouls on the three only 3 sec after the missed FTs. What a choke. 1pt game with 8 sec

Neither team wants to win. Portland with 2 FTs to go up 3.
Houston gets the ball with 7sec and they turn it over.

They're the first team in the West to go up 3-1 (we'll be #2)
Their defense is still really suspect, but they have so many offensive weapons that they're impossible to stop. Four guys who could each go for 40 on any given night.

Hold crap Mchale looks dejected. I know the loss sucks, but he is lost in space there in the post game new conference.

McHale the coach is a dead man walking... and it looks like he knows it. He just looks exhausted out there.

Good day. Stotts win, Casey win, Deron lose, Dwight lose, beard lose, Sterling lose.
And I really don't care about the Bulls or the Wizards.

The Rockets play retarted offense and still, every game was really closed. Im not really impressed with the Blazers, we would have nice chances to beat them (the original is always better than the copy).
Our problem would be just the backcourt and Batum. We cant hide Ellis and Calderon at D like we are doing it now.

Houston got the point back on a technical that didn't have to be called on Matthews later on.

He does. Probably exhausted from dealing w/Dwight and Beard all year.
Would be such sweet vindication for the Mavs to advance and see Dwight bounced 1st round

I don't think Dwight has really been the problem at all. His free throw shooting, sure, but he's been downright under-the-radar this season, if you ask me, outside of his great play.
James Harden gives me anxiety attacks just from watching him... terrible shots, lazy turnovers, embarrassing defense... he has been terrible this postseason.

Dwight hasn't been a problem on the court, but he's still a primadonna who is hard to coach and tough to be on a team with.

He relies on gimmicks versus his natural talent. He doesn't play composed at all, but he is still young.

agreed with most of the comments. the tech isnt really a big deal but its just infuriating to see this kind of officiating. absolutely no consistency between games or even from one play to the next.
i dont know what to make of mchale... i think he has a good philosophy/approach to the game but its absolutely ridiculous that he cannot/will not draw up any plays.
all of the plays out of timeouts are harden 1 on 1. thats just stupidity.
harden's hard to watch, lin is completely love/hate.
absolutely love dwights play this series though. nothing more can be asked of the guy. hes made huge plays on both ends.
i dont think dwight is hard to coach... i think his skill set is just lower than what people expect of him. he just has bad footwork and bad touch. 2 things that take a very long time to master.
