When the Mavs beat the Cavs in the NBA Finals...
will Tyson Chandler go down as one of the greatest Centers all-time? I feel like he should.

Sorry, I forgot about Houston and "the best all-around basketball player in the NBA."

When asked if he meant both sides of the court, Harden reportedly answered, "Yeah, the place where I score from in the second half"

You can't be the best all around player in the NBA when your defense sucks, not keeping your eye on your opponent on defense, getting beat off the dribble constantly.

How confident are you? Will you bet your entire savings account, your IRA, your house, and whatever other assets you have?
I mean, if it's "not going to happen," you should be willing to bet all of that, right? Let me know if you're game.

I find it funny that Harden first says this:
Scoop: Bottom line, you are on this team and a lot of players aren't, but in your mind, who is the best basketball player alive right now?
Harden: Myself.
But then goes on to say:
Harden: Yeah. Definitely. I'm enjoying this. Still trying to catch guys like LeBron, KD and Kobe. You know, just trying to catch those guys. That's something I get to look forward to every single day to motivate me.
What does he mean trying to catch those guys? Because they're better players than he is?

Harden isn't even the best offensive guard in the game right now. Curry, Paul and Westbrook are all better and are at least as good if not better at defense than him.

I was curious to see how Harden compared to other guards last year. Curry, Paul, and Westbrook were indeed the three guards with a better PER than Harden. Looking at plus/minus stats, Iguodala and Ginobili had better numbers than Harden per 36 min (in addition to Curry, Paul, and Westbrook), possibly because they play some defense.

If they won a championship, Carlisle would deserve a statue before Tyson.

How will this bet work exactly? Does he simply win if the Mavericks do NOT win the title this year? I don't know how many people will take him in a bet like that. BUT there always is that chance that he will lose it all.

If bet $100 that the Mavs win it all, $250 that the Rockets are eliminated in the first round and everything I have that the Rockets won't win it all.

Well, I'd need odds, because he's getting 29 teams and I'm getting only the Mavs. So they'd have to be good odds in my favor. Something like 25:1 would suffice.
Still, he should be willing to give me whatever odds I want, since it's "not going to happen."
Waiting to hear from you, Clutch.

So Harden, unable to man up on defense, has decided to do stand up, as in comedy. He's off to a great start.

You'd be wrong on that, all stats since Harden has joined the Rockets say he's one of the top 5 offensive players in the league. Also Paul and Westbrook are better defenders undoubtedly so...but Curry? Harden's defense during international play has been pretty consistent and given praise and Coach K seems to think very highly of Harden as a player.

James checks every box. I love James. We have a great, great relationship. That communication between the two of us can translate to even better communication with the guys on the court.”

Harden is 24 years old btw, the same age as some players coming into the league. He has all the reason to think he can be one of the best players in the NBA seeing as he finished 5th in MVP voting, over the likes of Curry and Paul.
His issue is defense, which he has admitted to several times now.
