Didn't have a lot of time, but I watched a few minutes. Every 30 seconds there were FTs. After 5 minutes, I was disgusted and left. Not even in a post hack-a-Shaq world should the NBA have 96 FTs.

I complained during the Houston-Dallas series that there was no momentum, no excitement, and no flow. This game was even worse. Just unbearably slow.

What in the world has gotten into Austin Rivers? Oh right... he has Jet, Prigioni, and Harden guarding him

They had a 23-0 run I believe there to close the 3rd and open the 4th? I didn't check the foul situation but why didn't mchale at least try to disrupt the momentum with a few hacks on Jordan in the 3rd? Also I saw several times where Dwight had posted up and was calling for ball or calling for a repost and they went away, making dwight drops his hands shaking his head. Dwight was playing great in the first half and his teammates seemed to freeze him out. DH12 can't be happy with how that 3rd quarter went.

--Edit-- Also first half Houston killed clips at the 4 attacking the paint. Not the same plan in the 3rd for some reason.

Yup at the beginning of the series I said the one place where we really had the clear disadvantage was at coaching....

I am beginning to think the offense needs to run through Dwight as a first option...

If your opponent has no interior defense, you exploit it.

If your opponent has no perimeter defense, you exploit it.

If your opponent has no single bigmen shooting FT on a solid quote, you exploit it

You still shouldn't be letting Austin Rivers score 25 points no matter how bad your defense is.

Look what happens when a team has defense. 2 games houston can't get over 100. Fine by me though we all knew whoever they faced they would get exploited. Too bad mavs couldn't do it.

Also jason Terry is a complete bitch.

Dont really like the Clippers but I absolutely enjoy how they beat the **** out of Houston, and especially "MVP-candidate" Harden (man, I was just waiting to create this meme... "Refs, you the real MVP").

Not sure whether I never noticed it because he was a Mav or pay more attention to it now that he's a Rocket, but yes, he absolutely is. Lost so much respect for him during the past year, not because he's a Rocket (well, that helps), but for his poor attitude.

So I guess the same can be said about the Warriors now as well huh since they are down 2-1? They can't even score over 90? the one game they did do it Conley was out.

Anyone going to dog the MVP Curry for yet another horrible shooting game 8/21 and 2/10 for 3ptrs? Really disappeared in the 4th with no factor on the game via scoring (2 fts) or setting up teammates (0 assists). Is this what the MVP is supposed to do??????

I'm loving watching this Grizzly vs Warriors series. Go Grizz. I hate the Warriors so much.

The style Memphis plays is much more suited for playoffs than GSW. That is the one question people had about GSW coming into the playoffs. Their defensive efficiency gave people hope that the team could handle a grind it out playoff game but Memphis is just punching them in the mouth. Both teams would beat the Rockets. The observation he was making is that Houston is not on the level that the other contenders are. It's why everyone wanted to play the Mavs and the Mavs wanted the Rockets. Grizz, Spurs, Clips, and Warriors are by most observers a step above the Rockets and the other West teams. Houston, just like the Mavs, only have a "shooters chance".

As for Curry- Frauden and Curry both have been poor examples of MVP candidates in the playoffs. There I dogged Curry.

Ahhh so what you are saying is that Memphis' defense does have an effect on Curry even though he has more options to depend on than Harden does. Should be much easier for Curry to shine. Curry saw these defenses in the regular season but for some reason is sucking this round?

Its why I said earlier you have to give credit to Clippers defense as they are trapping the ball as soon as Harden gets it. Jordan comes off his man is standing in the lane waiting on Harden and most of the time Harden does try to make the right play in getting the ball to his teammate but he either turns it over or they don't knock down the shot.

Agree that Harden needs to be more aggressive but not sure exactly how...dont want him to force shots either....

A win tonight can change everything....Everyone wanted to play Houston because everyone knew they were down two starters to begin the postseason.

You are making my point for me.... You state Curry has more options. Yet are defensive when I or others point to your team and say you are a step below the others. If you had Dmo and Beverly teams would still rather play you than Spurs, LAC, Memphis, and GSW IMO. If you don't agree then maybe the whole Harden carries a bunch of nobodies talk can end? It can't be both ways.

I'm confused how you give LAC credit for their defense and dismiss the freaking grind house as if it's just the usual. You also give Harden the benefit of needing his team to hit shots he gives them but don't mention how everyone minus Barnes and Klay are missing wide open shots for GSW? Both LAC and Memphis are making other guys beat them. Both Curry and Frauden should be playing better than they are.

My stating Curry has more options makes my point even more that Harden should have been the MVP. He did what he did with much less and you can't even argue that. But hey it wasn't a discredit that Curry got it because he deserved it as well.

I don't think everyone is just missing shots for GS I believe that Memphis is just locking down like they have done to teams all year so I never dismised Memphis. They are taking away what GS does best just like the Clippers are doing to Harden.

Also you do remember that Beverley is a 2nd team all defense player so I am pretty sure he would have changed a lot of what is done on the defensive end for us, so yes I can see why teams would want to play us especially teams with dominant point guards that rule the west and us having another 7ftr with a post game wouldn't have hurt either. But to say we are step below is kind of hard to digest when we finished 2nd in the west. If we were such a step below we should have finished much lower like Dallas did.

I also agree teams wanted to play us because the lack of history our team has together and the lack of success in the playoffs in recent years.

Don't agree with that offensive foul on James. Noah's left foot was moving and not planted.

I'm not a fan of Lebron, but this is ridiculous. Noah fouls him, and the refs need to call that.

It was something about a video play review to know how much time was left on the clock when it when out of bounds.

Wow! Did anyone else see Blatt on the court trying to call timeout with no timeouts left? I'm not sure I've seen a HC do that in the playoffs.

Morey told his puppet McHale to make the last two games complete unwatchable with extreme hack-a-jordan.

Thats not a gameplan to win the game, thats a longterm plan to get this tossed during the summer. They have Dwight, Capela, they want to re-sign Josh Smith. Morey will do everything to get a rule change.

And he started it with telling McHale to foul Jordan like 30 times. Its so damn obvious, McHale never used the rule and now he does it like that?`lol...thats all Morey.

Whoa, Rockets just allowed 43 points in a quarter.

A QUARTER!

Remember a few years ago when Eastern teams would pull out an 76-62 win?

How is the digestion going? Frauden trying out for invisible man tonight.

Some serious heartburn....

It was more than Harden being invisible, it was the whole team. Howard with stupid fouls, Corey Brewer with stupid fouls and no dunking self, Jones with so many easy point blank shots missed. For real, what has Josh Smith done at all this series..really? Our supposedly deeper bench getting killed by scrubs like JJ redick and MJ Rivers...

Its all mental now. I am very disappointed because they are going out like biyeachessss. It appears that the clippers are just the better team right now. Its going to be ugly on Tuesday.

Lol Rockets. There was one point in the 1st half where Frauden (LOLOL HAHAH) drove on Blake and tried to draw the foul and Blake kept his hands down and just bodied. Frauden threw his hands and didn't get the call. Heads up play by Blake recognizing Frauden was trying to draw a foul.

It's kind of embarassing that the Hack-a-Shaq practice may be legislated out of existence because of its unwatchability, when it is so clearly a poor strategy to use.

Here's a recent quote from Adam Silver on that strategy:
"I've heard from some of the greatest at our owners meetings, Michael Jordan Larry Bird ... their view is guys gotta make their free throws. And that's influenced me. ... I'm reluctant to make a change [to that strategy]."

Btw. it might be a couple of days too early, but I just had to share these:

Well hack a Jordan isn't working. I don't see why you'd change the rule if it doesn't give the team abusing it an advantage.

I don't think it'll happen in game 5.

This is what I was talking about earlier. Frauden doing his patented bullshit:

Barnes guarding him:

Reddick guarding him:

He tried the same thing on Blake and Blake just took his hands away the same way Barnes and Reddick are doing.

Harden is just hurting himself. Seriously, your talent will start to wane when all you're focused on is trying to sell a foul. He'll never learn how to make well defended shots doing that shite.

Reggie Miller said the same thing during the play by play yesterday. I really like him doing commentary. Very astute in observing the tendencies of players, and how to take advantages.

Back on topic: I'm glad a team is showing how to expose Harden. The best way to defend him is really not try too hard to defend him (sorta).
