They just said on 103.3 that Jason Quick has reported Matthews will sign whether DJ signs or not.
*edit*
Damn, 2 people beat me to it while I was typing! Clearly everyone is watching/listening closely as this all plays out.

That's what I was responding to. If Jordan leaves, I was hoping Matthews would find another team so we could maximize the tank.

Unless both parties feel fairly confident that Jordan is coming to Dallas?

Reports are already coming in (listening to The Ticket) that free agency will change next year and players can sign the first day instead of a week of space in between. Thanks for making that rule a year late NBA. Sincerely Dallas.

Hopefully he's arriving to bark in Jordan's ear to tell him to quit being a little bitch and man the F up and be a franchise player.

I don't get it. I thought every NBA player dreamed about being a franchise player. Why is this so difficult?

This day is historic in NBA free agent singing history. They will fix this before next year so that this never happens again. Too late for our Mavs of course.

Yeah, but this time it's THE marquis free agent that was available. It could be a franchise saving or franchise ruining situation.

Right, but never with this level of public scrutiny and social media bonanza. It will make all the difference for getting it fixed, I think.

Not of this magnitude, but most notably was Hedo. Still, the ramifications for the Mavericks far supersede anything that happened with Hedo.

I'd like to say that I'm feeling a little better after I saw the Tweet that his agent was en route, but it could just be the beer.

A player taking a 20 million per year contract and then blind siding you a week later with talks of "second thoughts" and switching teams has happened before? So you can literally destroy a teams entire off season if you wanted? Bottom line is this even being a possibility at all is a joke. These people make way too much money to be this incompetent.
I could of taken almost anything this off season and kept on churning. I love being a Mav fan.I feel beyond blessed to be able to watch Nowitzki and rejoice in having a star who represents everything I care about flawlessly. If I had to wait a few years to be competitive again then so be it. But this...... Good god.

Fegan is our hope. He should tell Jordan what it means if he breaks his word. It will do big PR-damage and his endorsements will suffer. It doesn't even have to be true, but he has to convince his client. This is really the moment, when Fegan has to earn his money.

I'll feel lucky if this just destroys one offseason. I feel this could hurt us for half a decade.

This could be very real because I've heard rumors that he "owes Cuban one" after he failed to land D12 here. If that's true, Jordan may not like that.

You have to imagine that LA has already forced a divide between DJ and Fegan so anything he says might go one ear and out the other. Even though its all bullshit from the clippers

Why are we optimistic about Fegan? Wasnt he the douchy agent for Boozer when he did the same? He also represented Howard who went to Houston. He's a big-time shyster.

Kinda funny how there's a story on the Dallas Morning News website how "Jordan's mother played key role in steering him to Mavs". And now the rumour is that Jordan's family members are behind this call to Rivers?

Honestly if I'm a mavs fav id rather he go back to LA. 1) the projected core is probably not enough to win big with. 2) if he does decide on Dallas is his heart going to be all in? Is he going to regret that decision at some point and thus problems arise later?
As a rockets fan I hope he sticks with his commitment.

I hope Jordan stays in LA. Moving on...
I don't want a mentally weak franchise player on this team.
