Wow, still a no call with Wade knocking down Williams.
This is why the league suffers.

Matthews with the clutch shot and the suffocating defense to close out this game. Fun game.

It is Cuban influencing refs so that D-Will feels mistreated and leaves Dallas.

Well Im happy that we beat Rondo and Wade
That's it. I guess we're angling to try to catch the 8th spot to be swept by GSW.

Seems like it. I hate the "make it, because you never know what happens" mentality. It's idiotic. We all know what's going to happen. Heck, the Warriors could beat us without Curry and Durant, and would still be an overwhelming favorite without either. And since the seventh place is out of reach, we are going to give up a great pick in a great draft for the privilege of being demolished by an all-time great team. Idiotic is the right word.

Wade being a game low -19 in a 1pt loss and looking like the worst player on the floor AND missing a game winner... AND... on his bday in his hometown.... Love it.
But putting my all time hatred for Wade aside.... This is depressing. Happy for the players, but this is approaching worst case scenario territory IMO.

You expected a different mindset from Dirk? He gives a shit for tanking, thats not why he is still playing.

I mean I bolded part of the quote for a reason.
28-13.
6th seed.
I threw Dirk's quote in there because it seemed relevant.

Hope to see Seth Curry around for a long time and develop into our starting pg. Maybe next year?

PG? He's awful at PG. -5.3 net PER when playing PG. Now at the SG (and a starting SG like last night), he's been incredible.

Hence develop. Definitely needs to develop some more to become a solid pg. He's a decent defender but I'm kinda tired of the undersized, below average athlete at SG. Ultimately Idc what position he plays as long as he keeps improving and is in a Mavs jersey. Thats a story I want played out here.

Put him in the same role JET had and he can be great player for us for a long time. Dude has been shooting the lights out from deep lately.

In my head I thought, its going to come down to a Dirk 3 or Barnes 3...well the top of the key was cluttered so Deron said F it, drove to the basket and Wessy Wes was the guy to get the game winner...
Id be lying if I wasnt worried when the ball magically got kicked to Wade, I thought please no...even as he released it, it looked true...
F RONDA AND DWAYNE
Something still tells me we dont get the 8 seed. For all that fighting, I see the Blazers getting it at the end of the day. Maybe thats wishful thinking...and then we'll land the 8th pick in the draft..heh heh

Definitely conflicting now that the team is healthy. Short of firing the coach and trading the vets, what do you do? Tell the team halfway through the season to not try and win games? I think that would be an easier pill to swallow if there were 10-15 games left in the season, but it's impossible with 41 games left.
It's unfortunate that we're now likely not picking in the top 5, but I just don't really see a simple solution.

As much as I prefer losing, it sure was sweet to watch two of the players I hate most go down in flames. Wade stole our championship, and Rondo cost us a first round pick just so he could sit on his ass in the playoffs...perhaps the greatest jerk move of all time by anyone in a Mavs jersey. Two complete dicks, hanging flaccid in the frigid Chicago night. Rondo clearly wanted to embarrass the Mavs, but in the end he was the one sitting on the bench, with no joy, just the tears of a bitter man.

And from Bobby Karalla - Mavs' starting five has a 128.4 offensive rating in the last three games.
AND BK has more great stats here: http://www.mavs.com/mavs-new-startin...ve-resurgence/

It's an offense-first league right now. Silver has made it almost impossible to play defense, and he's totally succeeded in increasing the scores as if that made things more exciting. He's also commented that the final two minutes go too slow. He wants to speed up the game.
If we want to squeeze into that 8th spot to get Dirk one last playoff spot even if it means being swept by GSW, then offense is our ticket to get there. .
Personally, I think it's stupid to mortgage our future yet again for a tiny bit of moderate success, but if that's what we're going for, we could do worse.
