Rick running a microscopic lineup with JJ and Yogi on the floor at the same time...

It's really a phenomenon that Superstars can't travel.

Barnes gets hammered, no call... Westbrook doesn't get touched, foul.

No it's actually good of the Mavs lose, but the non travel call is proof the refs can't do their job.

Cracks me up how excited Westbrook is. You just beat one of the worst teams in the league. Congrats.

Refs helped the Mavs for one with at least four ridiculously bad calls. Still, good win for the Mavs

14-0 run to end the game, Mavs drop below NO in the standings.

I know we're worried about keeping two of our new key players, but we want to lose. We're in position for the #9 pick, and if we're lucky we'll move up!
We need to keep Nerlens Noel and Seth Curry. If we can lock them up we're in phenomenal shape post-Dirk. The player we draft next year should be the best since Devin Harris or Josh Howard.

So our game against Peicans is big because we are tied in standings but we have the season series thus far. Could be difference between 9 or 10. Kings have some easy games coming up so its possible we move up to 8 but unlikely

I haven't looked at minutes for the game but it seemed there were at least 3 guys age 30 or older on the floor for us at all times....sometimes more than 3.
I'm not sure why RC continues to keep sticking with the vets when this season is clearly over.
This is a golden opportunity to evaluate our current youth....especially Hammons and Brussino.

One of the problems with getting jive turkey'd by the refs and getting a better pick from losing etc, is that it always happens to US. It's been happening since before 06 finals collapse. But the finals ref job was where it really became blatant that we are bitches that deserve no respect. Questionable calls will go the other way more often than not.
We really need to hit this draft right and get a franchise changer. Hopefully we can obtain a super athletic guy who can slice up the defense and eventually force refs to make bad calls for us based on how fast the play is happening, because these refs now days can't be trained properly when things are moving really fast and especially when it's crowded near the paint.

Smith would definitely be one of the best in the draft to fit that bill who could actually have a slight chance to slip to us.
One of Kings, Knicks, or Magic will probably grab him though.

Noel will be a restricted free agent after the season, no need to worry there, we will match everything. The only reason we let him go if he literally snaps his leg in half. Curry, well, he is signed through 2017/2018. I would personally not offer him a big contract this summer, and I see him more in the 6th man role going forward. Our main core will be Noel, Barnes and our new rookie, who will hopefully be a stud.

In order to make the playoffs next year, we will have to be good enough for Dirk to be coming off the bench.

If memory serves they play the Lakers and the Suns and both teams are in super tank mode. Down the stretch anything can happen though. Playoff twams sit staters. Tanking teams try to out tank each other.

Yeah, no extensions, but he's an RFA and we have full bird on him. We can pay him whatever we'd like, but it will have to be a new contract and we can't stop him from hitting free agency.

Are we talking about Curry or Noel? I don't think we have any rights on Curry. They will have to use cap space or mle. Dlord has suggested that they should try to trade him before he hits free agency.
