GDT game 77 - Mavs (32-44) at Kings (30-47) 9:30 FSSW
Late game in Sacramento. Kings are only 2.5 games back so a loss would do wonders for us.
Mavs will be resting guys for the 1st game of a B2B
Injuries
Dirk - Achilles - questionable
Barnes - rest - out
Curry - shoulder - out
Barea - rest - out
Matthews - rest - out

Dirk plays 48 -- no, make it 49 -- minutes, Mavs win in a blowout.

Minny's win puts us just 1.5 games away from the #8 pick, but we're still only 0.5 away from the Pelicans for #10... TANK HARD, MAVS!

Finally some deliberate tanking. Let's hope Brussino doesn't go off for 30.

I kinda hope he goes off for 45. I absolutely adore his game and love the speed and arc of his threes.
...in a loss

This is a game Rick should play as many d-leaguers as much as possible. He doesn't have to try to uphold the integrity of the league by competing against a PO bound team and we are completely out.
Uthoff, Yogi, Brussino, DFS and Hammons should be playing 25+ minutes tonight.

I do too.
Beginning to wonder just how high his ceiling can be.
I see a little bit of Detlef Schrempf in his game.
Listed at 6'7" but seems much taller when standing next to guys like Barnes and DFS.

Not sure their starters can even beat our reserves, but there's still hope!

As long as the Mavs are in the driver seat to draft Fox or Markkanen. So I wouldn't mind to see Brussino try to go for 50.

Honestly wouldn't look bad if our reserves kick their ass. Helps front office evaluate who they're for sure going to draft.

Hammons is already better than Dwight Powell.

To be fair, the Kings are playing Jack Johnson and Jimmy Smitson. Not like you can do much when the other team plays players in which I have to make up fake names.

26minutes for Hammons -- 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal... Nice to see something out of the kid.

Hate to say "if Rick only played him more" but...
And you can tell because he has a ton of growing to do. Can't grow on the bench.

That's only slightly worse than his D-League numbers which is about right considering the Kings roster was slightly better than a D-League team last night.

Me too.. I love the unlimited range and the play-making ability. With a little seasoning, I could almost see him becoming a similar player to Parsons before all the injuries.

I was surprised by some of his cuts. You expect a guy that seems timid to stay out on the 3, but its refreshing to see him crash at times.

He's one of those guys who simply has a nose for the ball. Rick should be patient with him because he seems to have a high ceiling. Most of his weaknesses should diminish with maturity and experience.
I'd love to see him eventually take the starting SF spot because like jleefilled, I think he has a similar game as Parsons. He just needs to become a better finisher. And with his size and aggressiveness he'd be a decent fit with Barnes and Noel.
