WTF are you talking about?? We've passed on Jason Terry THREE different times since he left Dallas, we're sure as hell not signing him while we're in the middle of a youth movement... He's not even a restricted free agent -- there's a reason why he's still available.

Yeah, cause he can be like those late season 10 day contract pickups... You aren't getting the logic here. Not saying he should be signed right away. If there are trades Mavs make when trades open. Then it obviously can leave a roster spot open.

I'm not "getting the logic" because there isn't any... If we have an open roster spot, it'll go to someone on the Legends before it goes to Jason Terry.
Do you even pay attention to this team? It's not 2012, we aren't signing washed-up veterans who will take away minutes from developing players. We're in a REBUILD -- JET doesn't fit our plans under any circumstances.

So you're saying not to let Terry retire in Dallas? Tank or not that's messed up.

Are you trolling, or do you REALLY, REALLY just not understand how the NBA works?

Yeah, I'm not "getting" it... Are you?
Jason Terry is free? What does that even mean?? The Mavs aren't going to sign him so he can retire here, that's not how the NBA works. Jason Terry is only going to set back the rebuild, which is why there's a 0% chance he'll be on our roster... Why are you even talking about him?
They can hang his jersey in the rafters, but there's no way in hell they're gonna waste a roster spot on a guy who's about to turn 40 and averaged only 4 PPG last season. Like I said, you're either trolling or you just don't understand enough about the NBA to hang with even the most basic conversation.

Not defending Y and don't really care but the NBA can certainly work that way. See Paul Pierce this year.

Jason Terry was never considered a franchise player, and Boston is not in the middle of a rebuild... Also, we have an open roster spot and it hasn't gone to JET -- if we were going to sign him, no reason it wouldn't already have happened. Plus, is he even considering retiring this season? There's zero reason to assume so, zero reason to be having this conversation.

With two-way contracts how many players can we enter training camp? Previously it was 20. Now is it 22? I'm wondering if we can still sign another player or two.

Wait... that's it?! They're done? I hope this means that they'll be able to sign someone midseason should the opportunity arise.
According to Basketball Insiders I see that the payroll is currently listed at $76,526,098. This includes $315,758 owed to Gal Mekel, $100,000 guaranteed to Dorian Finney-Smith should they not sign him to the team option, and $1,339,662 guaranteed to Devin Harris should they not sign him to the team option as well.
This has not been updated to account for Nerlens Noel signing the qualifying offer of $4,187,599. That increases the team payroll to $80,713,697 and 12 guaranteed contracts. It also does not include the $75,000 going to Johnathan Motley. Now $80,788,697 for the team payroll. It appears that the other 7 players have to play for the last 3 spots and potentially another 2-way contract.
If Hispanos NBA is correct Jeff Withey has signed a non-guaranteed contract worth $1,577,320. I think it's time for a poll. Who will make the team?

I thought it was smart to pickup Motley after the draft. He and Ashley are ones mostly I'd like to make the roster. Motley tries a lot to be like Dennis Rodman. With inside offense potentials. Interesting idea for center. Ashley has a better offensive game to play PF. Should be an interesting pre season.

Seriously, how the f*ck did we let Tyson Chandler go?
(it's that time of the year, right?)

That's what lockouts do to champions... See the 1998 Bulls for reference -- they lost Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippin, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, Jud Buechler, and Phil Jackson... The reigning champs finished the shortened season with a 13-37 record. Toni Kukoc was their leading scorer.
In other words, Mavs fans can shut the hell up forever about Tyson Chandler.
(yep, it's that time of the year...)

Cuban would have a championship if he re-signed Nash.

Hard to say when Nash always choked against the spurs... Mavs would have had better odds going back to back finals after they won with Tyson.

Nash might be the worst defender that was great at offense of all time. Harden sucks because he doesn't try, but Nash just couldn't do it even when he did try.
And why did we trade the great Christian Laettner for Juwan Howard? Ugh...

Yeah, it was flat-out insane to trade away a KEY member of the Dream Team like that.

Sure.. if he was our 6th man instead of JET. After Mavs trading Harris for Kidd was defining. Though thinking all 3(JET, Nash, and Kidd) in a lineup with Tyson and Dirk. That would have gotten the Mavs closer than the spurs. cubes and donnie cannot give up on Noel right now.

I miss the good ol' days of a young Dirk and Nash with an in-prime Finley.
But, I'm pretty excited to have another year of Dirk with this current roster -- however it might shake out. It's been such a pleasure to be a fan of Dirk all these years. Let's hope he comes back for another season after this one.

We'd have 3 without him. Beating the spurs in the playoffs opened the door for it all.

I do wish we had Fin right now. Now he's the one that could have probably helped us a lot more in the finals.

If Fin got to play with Kidd things would have been much different. Especially during the run n gun years.

My Spanish is shaky, but yikes, there's no way the Mexican Football League is going to survive with that kind of boring game log.
