Default Mavs back in the playoffs

With the Memphis loss, the Mavs have clinched a spot in the playoffs!

Nice! Let's just hope we can avoid the Clippers in the first round.

I'm not sure it'll last long

The Clippers are going to destroy this team in 5 games or less

I'd be shocked if the mavs came within 10 points in any of the losses....

They aren't disciplined enough to compete in that series.

It doesn't matter, this year is all about learning how to play together, loosing to clippers would be a good experience

Step 1 - get experience in the playoffs
Step 2 - Add some talent in the offseason and keep training together
Step 3 - profit.

Yeah, I say bring on the Clippers. That's exactly the type of experience you want to put your guys through. They are going to smother Luka, and he is going to have to adjust.

Luka and KP are young which brings long term optimism.

But keep in mind in sports anything can happen injuries, star players changing their desire to be somewhere or lack of talent being brought in.

Right now the future looks bright and we can say wait til next year.

But there have been cases where talented young players never got to develope or stayed long enough to win a title together.

Examples would be Shaq and Penny or VC and McGrady.

The sky was the limit and the futures looked bright. But then things changed.

I trusted Dirk to stay loyal and committed to the Mavs. I didn't always trust the front office to put pieces around him. But he stayed patient and it paid off.

Hopefully Luka & KP are both as patient and loyal as Dirk.

If the Mavs expect Dirk's patience and loyality then they will be disappointed. Luka will force himself to the Lakers if the Mavs don't build a championship contender around him within 2 to 3 years
