This Mav team is the first one that made me leave a playoff game in the 3rd quarter. Pathetic.

starting lineup is 1-17 from 3. that's not going to win anything.

13% from three
This team is totally bewildering.
Mavs either shoot 45% or under 20%. That’s it. Those are the only options

I think it’s time that you stop furiously masterbating every time the Mavs fail at something or an opponent makes a basket.

KP is getting paid as well like a top 10 player and yet he is nothing more than a role player. Just imagine if he was as good as his contract. This team would be up 3-0 now.

you were at the game up close and personal are you saying KP was the biggest issue again tonight?
Was he the reason why all the Clippers were driving inside and scoring?
Sure KP can get some blame but the top 5 coach isn't beyond blame either especially when you throw out a gimmick midget ball lineup expecting them to defend KL and George.
Your distaste for him I guess mirrors my distaste for the coach who has the longest rope in the NBA after Pop
I guess that's what 1 Title can do for you now days in Dallas sports

Mann with 13 minutes but Green can’t get 5 to change up a look on Kawhi/ PG? Are you serious?
Lue has outclassed Carlisle the past two games. We have no response to their 5 wing lineup. And we haven’t even tried the right combinations. Fucking garbage.

You think Luka wants to play with THIS team? Would this team even win 25% of their games without him?
You can find plenty of role players who can mesh with Luka and we'll STILL be a fringe playoff team. But these players have zero ability to play defense and Luka should be the only starting player who is below average defensively

What’s wrong with Dwight. He always gives energy but haven’t seen him. Also, Green might provide a spark. Mavs lost their swagger. Gone a the gold old days of ‘You’re too f*cking small’

As pathetic as it is to see this team just lay down and accept the beating anyone who has watched them this season could see it coming from a mile away.

I read the other day that Cuban said he's confident he'll be able to resign THJ.
I think one of the NBA sites had him getting paid $20 million a year on his next contract
So I expect this roster to much the same again next year without much change

If Luka’s neck doesn’t improve, the Mavs are likely fucked. The 0-5 free throws were telling. They weren’t even close.

They need a 3rd option defensively beyond DFS and Kleber because neither one of those guys have faired well at all vs KL and George.
Lue played Mann just to see if someone can stop Luka or get under his skin.
I'm sure there's a lot of doubt as to how effective Green would be on either one of those guys but you don't know unless you try right?
I recall Cory Brewer having that one great moment vs the Lakers which turned out to be a key stage of that series after he rode the bench all playoffs.
But to me I would have thrown Green out there a few times at home to see how responds
Maybe he lights a fire in the team with his energy activity who knows

Do you guys remember when the Utah Jazz were beating up on Dirk and the Mavs? The clippers are the Jazz of these Mavs. The Mavs have to learn from these games.

I wonder how J.Johnson mightve fared in this situation. But hey at least we have Redick in street clothes on the bench

Not playing Green isn't the only sin. We need to match their wing heavy lineup with Kleber at the 5 to have a chance at making the proper defensive rotations. They are killing us in the paint because Porzingis/ Boban rotate way too slowly on the perimeter leaving them free to drive when others try to scramble and cover.
Lue has adjusted, Carlisle has not.

Hopefully a few days off will solve the problem.
Not sure if it's something that a muscle relaxer with a few massages can solve but will find out in the next few days
I didn't have a great feeling about this series headed back to Dallas because the Mavs haven't played well at home
Hopefully they can steal game 5 and close it out in 6 with one great game for once at home that's the only way I see them winning the series.

The series will be over in 6. The Mavs got their outlier shooting games right out of the gate for a 2-0 lead. They're done now. The only question in my mind is if the Mavs can keep at least one of the next 2 losses in single digits. 50-50 chance. I think there's at least one more blowout coming.

Can't believe I paid money to go to that game. Probably the worst game I've been to at least in recent memory. Yikes.
It is surprising though that people are still ripping KP when THJ wasn't even D-league quality tonight. No way I extend him because he is sooooo ridiculously hot and cold. Team NEEDS him to play well, and you can't rely on someone that will literally vanish. And nobody knows why either. How do you go from being that third guy to absolutely nothing? It's seriously the most perplexing thing I've ever seen in the NBA.

Yes. I've said all season that the coach should get some blame. I've been right there with you. Anyone with a brain can see this. But your free pass for KP is just like those who give RC a free pass. The dude FN sucks. Stop giving him as much rope as you give RC. KP is actually on the floor and can make a difference but outside of the first 2 possessions which I consider a gimmick, they got exposed.
I'm not going to fault Doncic, he looked tight and quite frankly hurt and he might have shot literally 18% during warm ups. We sat there watching him during his scheduled warm up time and he missed 80+% of his open free shots. From that I could tell he wasn't going to have it. DFS isn't that guy, he can pitch in but like Maxi and THJ, they aren't difference makers consistently vs good teams.

The talent discrepancy doesn't rear its ugly head until you see Luka have a bad game.
For the life of me I do not understand how KP isn't a mismatch every single night. How he doesn't dominate every single night. The Clippers literally have no one woh can guard him. No team does. Then you see Paul George on him and he doesn't know what to do....he needs to be at that Hakeem Olajuwon camp ASAP.

I think the issue is we expect TH to play like he does. He's a streaky jump shooter. We probably should expect KP to play like he has been....but its still hard to fathom because we or maybe I should say I still see him as a legit All Star in this league....

I don't know if he changes the outcome of this series but two guys this offseason we brought in that I thought would bring some much needed toughness to a soft team were James Johnson and Richardson......

It's a system problem for KP as much as it is KP sucking and not giving effort. How many big men have flourished under Rick? I can assure you the list is small.
But at least KP was one of the few people not afraid to shoot the ball tonight. I couldn't believe how many shots were passed up because they were playing scared. A team that plays scared will NEVER succeed in the playoffs.

Umm yea. If you read Twitter dip shits, they will tell you "max THJ" garbage. That we have to re sign him etc. It's a blessing that we can actually draw a line at what he makes right now. Idc If he shot 25 of 28 in the last 2 games to close out this round and move on. 2 years at 18mil is all I'm offering. The main reason is because he is one dimensional and at the same time we can't afford to overpay anyone else because KP is getting massively overpaid.
How can anyone watch this team in the POs and say they're surprised that KP is getting ripped? The mrfr makes MAX money. He doesn't make a difference unless he is getting free looks offensively.

It's crazy to me this.... I barely hear Luka on the radio after the game, but I heard him answering questions about his neck and whatever, and said it's a little pain but he's fine, and that he just played really bad.... But then the radio host said that during Rick's postgame, Carlisle said Luka couldn't even turn his neck to the left to look left, it was that bad, apparently... I dunno, pretty cool of Luka to not bitch about something that's obviously seriously affecting his gameplay IMO

I saw a video from the 3rd quarter from game 3 where Casey Smith runs up to Luka with a pill and a water bottle. It may have been a muscle relaxer, but it seems like something that could throw you off in basketball as opposed to football.
Luka said that he felt better today than yesterday, so those massages were at least doing something.

Id answer with an easy one.... The best player our franchise has ever seen. Dirk. Unfortunately KP isn't even a pimple on Dirks ass.

I mean it depends because I honestly don't believe in free agency they can even get a player the caliber of Tim Hardaway Jr.

Dirk was pretty decent. I also seem to recall some tall guy from SoCal doing pretty well here. Bryson Mandler?
