The schedule after today's game
Nuggets
@Suns
@Suns
@Clippers
@Clippers
Wizards
Cavs
We don't play a losing team until December 1st
Mavs are 1-3 against teams with a winning record (although we beat the Raptors with injuries while they were sub-.500) and have lost every other game against a team with a winning record by double digits.
There's a high likelihood that we go into December with a losing record. If we take away the Raptors game, we have not won against a winning team this year. If we win tonight, we may then go 0-7 and end November 8-11.

We don’t have enough talent. I know this is blasphemy but I think a rough season ending in the lottery may be exactly what we need. A high draft pick and a reality check regarding the current roster’s makeup is desperately needed.

Mavs have been bad at times especially vs winning teams
But having said that I don't think Washington and Cleveland are really that good.
I'll be attending one of the Phoenix games (Friday)
I can see the Mavs going 3-4 or 4-3 because I doubt they drop both of those Clippers game.

Perfect test stretch for the Mavs.
I am eager to see what a healthy KP can do against good teams.

I say 3-4
Clippers, Suns, Nuggets, and one of Cavs/Wizards is a loss

We get to see Josh Green play with the Texas Legends tonight. Rumor has it he will try to dribble with both hands.

We need to lose all 7 and it sucks to say that. That may be the only thing that gets Cuban involved to the point where he is spending extra time with Nico about moving pieces. But then again, maybe not
Short term sanity: at least 3-4
Long term sanity: 0-7

Not sure Luka would have changed things, but it certainly doesn’t help to have him out

Ermmm Luka sure would have and I'd surmise a win or two there. Liked how the guys battled, sure was nice to see Kleber back, too.

I admittedly wasn't around for the last few games, but what's up with the gameday threads? Am I missing something or was there not one for the 2nd game with the Suns and the Clippers game?

I think the combination of Twitter and the Mavs not really improving the team has caused a lack of interest

Dang, but admittedly, I don't contribute much to them. Just was out this weekend and wanted to check in on the usual in-game commentary.

Wow Luka getting hurt with no backup plan? Nobody could have predicted this! Ugh...

Crazy how Cuban said in the offseason that we needed a Second ball handler to take the ball out of Lukas hands, and he proceeds to sign nobody that can dribble.

Mavs PR listed him as a probable starter, according to T-Mac. Not sure on the timing of their respective tweets, but Callie Caplan and he seem to view the designation differently. (edit: should mentioned CC was at the practice when that activity occurred, and likely T-Mac was not)
That being said, if Luka wakes up today with any sort of soreness, then there's no question he should sit. 3 days off for turkey day coming up after this one, no need to risk an entire season.

Let it sink in that our only two available pgs tonight if Luka doesn't play will be Brunson and Burke. Frank is out with a calf strain.

Not 1 person....who can dribble. In fact we gave a raise to a guy who we already know with undeniablye proof that he can't dribble. Because we are desperate for streaky shooters.

You are forgetting Josh Green played a developmental game with the Legends a week ago. He is likely almost a Globetrotter from a ball handling perspective.

Did the Mavs not sign Franky Smokes? Does he not count? All I hear is praise for him in GDTs and on Twitter/Reddit. He's certainly exceeded expectations and has been a positive for us. Between him and Brunson taking a step forward (16-5-6) I think we definitely improved the guard spots.
Now shooting? We signed shooters (Bullock 41%, Brown 42%) and re-signed our best shooters, but everyone has been hot garbage. You can't really blame Cuban for signings, though. He signed two elite players. They just turned into hot garbage for us.

Nuggets - WIN
@Suns - LOSS
@Suns - LOSS
@Clippers - LOSS
@Clippers - WIN
Wizards
Cavs
2-3 so far. Not as bad as I would have thought.
Wizards have lost 3 of 4 and have definitely gone cold
Cavs have lost Sexton for the season and have gone 0-4
We may be out of that tough stretch

Evan Mobley has also been out for a bit and should miss the matchup with us. Big loss for a Cavs team (along with Sexton) where they could use the developmental time together.
