The thread in which we discuss the Hornets wrecking the Mavs
2NB2B for us.
Luka, WCS, S. Brown all out again
Ball, Plumlee, McDaniels, Smith all out. Washington is questionable.

Yeah, Green has finally been doing something. He provides energy and defense which the team desperately needs.

I'd like to see Frank as well.
Green is a good defender. I was impressed with his 1v1 defense as well as team defense.

Moses and Green really do seem to play well together.

So Mavs are better without Luka? Is it time to discuss who we should trade him for yet?

A bag of chips. Poor Luka is now worthless after killing a hornets team without half their players.

I was disappointed that Moses didn't get much time in the 2nd half.
Green had another good game. I was really happy fie him when he knocked down that 3. He's a good defender and hood passer, he just needs to keep adding in the other tools.

Has Green replaced Frank suddenly? I liked what Frank was bringing to the table, but I also like seeing Green getting a chance to contribute.

I think it's more Trey Burke has proven to be a better creator in Luka's absence. In any event, should Green continue to play like this, the Mavs have a semi-decent problem in having too many contributable guards. My guess is one or more gets traded to shore up say...the center position. But who knows how Moses continues. I wanted to see more of him last night but tough to put him in that position with the Hornets going so small.
I was impressed with Green. His 1v1 defense is noticeable, but as someone pointed out, his team defense and switching to help defense popped out. One particular play he was hip to hip with his man on a drive, KP comes to help on potential shot, Green slips underneath and stones KP's man after the pass and lead to a turnover.
It's the Hornets, but we need to keep seeing these smaller improvements from the role players.

Green is now averaging 11-8-3 per 36 on 45% shooting and 40% from three
He's absolutely killed it on defense, rebounding, and overall hustle to the point that every other player not named Moses looks like a lazy slob. Now his offense is coming along.
I really hope we see more Green. The only hit I have on him is that he passes up shots a lot. He had an open shot and passed it up, which lead to a clock violation. I half wonder if Rick got in his head and made him afraid to shoot which is why he's so hesitant.

Gotta give Dorian credit for his defense and hustle. He has been right there with both Green and Moses.
Also Dorians hard drives into the lane have been impressive and much needed addition to his toolbox. He has been doing it more consistently in the last 3 or 4 games and I hope he realizes the difference it makes.

Yea Green and Moses need minutes. We need them to get minutes desperately. I was disappointed that Moses didn't get back in the game. He altered shots inside defensively and took advantage of mismatches on offense.
We have said for years about Rick is that you need to at least try to force the opponent to adjust to your lineups but instead Rick was the almost always the one to counter adjust. Last night would have been a good opportunity to get Moses back in there and punish them if possible. Hornets didn't have options to counter it, if their small ball lineup didn't work, then they're Fvcked.
We won the game and looked pretty good but you didn't get Moses back in until garbage time which sucks because we had a lead big enough to afford some growing mistakes IF he made them. We also aren't going to shoot the 3 that well consistently when we have to so I take these big 3pt % games with a grain of salt.

And this is a direct result from a team that can't make threes anymore. Now they are forced to play guys who don't/can't shoot threes to make an impact.
When life gives you lemons...
And yeah, Rick did as much harm as good. People can dislike Kidd all they want, but no way Moses or Green sees the court this season under Rick.

I hear ya about getting Moses back in the game. At the same time, they were throttling the Hornets in this one, outlier shooting or not. Not really a need to get him in there (edit: I guess I should be real here and that any developmental minutes are good for guys like Moses). I'm just hoping he gets some real strong minutes against the Lakers and Timberwolves.
